Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dead Rising 2 - a question for owners of this game

a quick question before i go ahead and click buy.

i need the game for my son, all he plays are open world games where you dont need to do objectives etc

in dead rising 2, can you ignore all missions and run amuck in game. ie just run about messing without gameover screens?

Nope, you must play the main story missions (cases). Dunno if you can get a game over by not giving medicine to your daughter though.

Υοu still have the option of "Continue Playing".

To be precise, there plenty of opportunities to stop following the story and start screwing around. And, man, this is enjoyble!

Nope, your strictly regulated by the story. You'll have time limits placed on every mission and this will just constrict your sons freedom to roam around. It also doesn't help that your restricted to one base point, you have no transportation methods and that the game lacks auto-saves, which could mean that you might have to restart from your last manual save if you die.

I really enjoyed it, but I also had to be very patient with it and it can get frustrating sometimes.I don't recommend that your son plays Dead Rising 2.

Get him Infamous or Saints Row 2 or something.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

sounds good, so if you let your daughter die, you can continue just messing about?

On the one hand, that was a pretty dick move! On the other, you're basically the greatest father ever for buying your kid Dead Rising.
