Either they do not sell many games, or I am severly underestimating download sales lol.

Its an MMO with a monthly subscription fee, so 200,000 not counting first week sales is...unbelivable. ITs far from WoW numbers...for now, but being able to edge out EverQuest 1's inital weeks is very very impressive.

exactly. with f2p MMO everywhere, it's pretty hard to convince people to buy games on sub. this number is really amazing.
Not surprising. Online gaming has grown significantly over the years and it has the DC Universe license.
Their other games seem niche in comparison.

Good news!
So far I'm loveing it...not too sure how long I'll stick around though, honestly I'll probably get my villian to max level and then stop playing, maybe possibly get a high level hero as well but prob not.
the fact that this is their first cross platform game and having the DC licence I would think are the main reasons but still good for them, the real test is to see how many people they can convince to keep playing the game for more than a couple month because that's where the real money is in MMOs.

i was in the beta and loved it! it's great and still worth a try for everyone. with one month of free subscription it's possible to play more hours then most campaigns give you nowadays.
the only reason i'm not getting it yet, is because right now Mass Effect is keeping me busy, and after that LBP 2, and after that Dead Space 2, and after that....

While there are some minor and major issues with the game (mainly with the UI being slow) it is well deserved. This game is my first mmo and i'm enjoying it very very much. I can't wait to see the new additions in the next few months for this game.
