ever since this gen has started and the wii and ds have been dominating, gaming jounalists, "hardcore" fans, critics, analysts, and pubs/devs have been hating on nintendo. ever since the hate started, i have loved every minute of it. i love all the threads and arguments saying nintendo is destroying the core and bringing in casuals, in love the arguments people make about nintendo graphics and game styles, i love the hate wii sports has gotten, issues about bundling, attach rate, wether wii is a "next-gen" console, and so on so forth. do any nintendo fans feel the same as me? it just puts a smile on my face when i see some publisher, fan, or critic blasting nintendo while nintendo is simply producing the best games ever and dominating the market.all i can say is its kept me entertained for the last 6 or so years.

Even when predictions against Wii (specially) were wrong, it make me feel sad that people dismiss Nintendo and don't try games like both Galaxy's or Metroid Prime Trilogy.

I really want to see some hardcore fans to play at least the few good Nintedo games instead of just hate them without playing.

To be honest I do in a sense because I love to be right when others are wrong. They say Wii's doomed I say no it isn't, I say it will sell millions more the PS3/360 they say I'm mental. It ends up selling more and I can now say hahaha. Then they continue saying No its doomed and I get to continue rubbing Nintendo's success in their faces.

However honestly I'm one of those WiiSports haters and WiiMusic etc...etc.. I hate on some of Nintendo's products. I even think the Wii can't last a couple more years in a sense calling it doomed though it is a success in every sense of the word.

So yes I love all the Nintendo haters because they give me someone to laugh at and debate with. But at the same time I agree with some of it. Also I hate when publishers and developers diss Nintendo mainly because I love several of their products and if they hate Nintendo I know their products won't come and that makes me sad.

I think most of the Nintendo criticisms are hilarious. It almost comes off as a bunch of "hardcore" gamers being insecure about how the most popular system isn't either of the HD twins, but instead the one that has expanded the audience by catering more to family-friendly accessibility and charm. I hear critics like Yahtzee whine with logical fallacies all the time, but the fact is that Nintendo has a standard of quality and a runaway success that PROVES they know about gaming. And now we have people already trying to put down the 3DS before it's even out and how it'll inevitably fail. Y'know, just like how people claimed that with the DS and Wii. Guess they better find a good side to go with that crow.

I hate the love Nintendo gets, I'm cool like that.

I don't pay any attention to the hate that Nintendo gets this generation.  Yes they don't have a HD console and it's the weakest of the three but all I care about is having fun and I have fun playing with the Nintendo Wii, especially some Mario Kart Wii :).

doesn't have to be harmful to be irritating.  I too dislike some of the Ninty love where Nintendo just can do no wrong, Wii games can't possibly lose money because they only cost a dream and a unicorn fart, and they're the only ones in the current generation of consoles.   It's like that Middle School girl writing Jenny Miyamoto in her notebook and dotting the i's with hearts kind of love.  annoying.

I don't really want to get into it, mainly because I'd be worried I'd offend a few people and I'm not willing to get banned. The argument would have involved cults, region locking and Mario though, so I guess people can just take guesses or something.

I also think that Nintendo get just as much hate as Sony does or did get earlier in the generation. It's an unfair assesment to make, mainly because criticisms are thrown around extremely often in this industry, it's just that certain fans take it to heart a lot more than others. Nintendo aren't perfect, they deserved to be called out when they do something stupid and I don't think their fans should defend them for their faults that hurt their gaming needs in the end.

Uh huh... And mindless people that seem to follow what corporate PR says as truth gets on my nerves too but you don't see me saying that in threads whenever there's a bunch of spin involved... honestly though there's two sides of that story being all the needless/unprofessional hate and maybe if people weren't so hateful then we'd have fewer people adamantly and annoyingly defending them eh?

Honestly what you states is annoying of all fans not just Nintendo fans... its a trait they all share, ALL OF THEM.  You might as well be just stating you don't like fans, cause guess what die hard star wars fans will defend the new trilogy, die hard Microsoft fans will defend XBL pricing and console failures, Sony fans will defend going from the top of sales to the bottom and losing billions of dollars in the process, and Nintendo fans will defend some of Nintendo's odd choices...
