Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 3DS preordered and paid in full, who else is with me?

Yeah the sentiment with me is like the rest, the day 1 titles aren't all set in stone and from the ones that are, Street Fighter IV might be the only one I pick up, but the "launch window" titles are ridiculous, Zelda, Mario Kart, Star Fox, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Kingdom Hearts 3D, and maybe Pilot Wings are more than enough for me to put down my money so I avoid the sellouts and get my games.

I would list more third party titles but I question the quality of games like Resident Evil Mercs for example and will wait on reviews.

I wish I had the money to pre-order and pay in full an aqua blue 3DS.  I have to save up the money and hope that there is one available in my area when the money is there...lol.

Oh right you reminded me to mention I preordered the black 3DS, I've been wanting a black DS lite since forever ago and this time I'm able to get a black system right off the bat.  The blue is a nice shade of blue I must admit but I don't like how the inside is still black around the 3D screen... I know its because of the effect and all but I would just like to have a uniform console

I agree with that but I think more people are going for the black 3DS and I really like that aqua blue :).  Maybe when I save the money up they will have more colors available.  Yeah, that's how broke I am...lol.

Not me. No REALLY enticing games for it as of now. Besides - there's an X360 I'll be buying any day now, as well as generally being against buying launch hardware. It's kinda pointless IMO - expensive, with few games, and generally worse reliablity.

Reliability.

Anyway, generally if you're accustomed to console manufactures after the mid 90s this is true, the ones prior make reliable hardware out of the gate... IE I've never had a launch Nintendo or SEGA system ever mess up on me, I break it before the hardware inside breaks down.  And even then it's tough to do since I've only ever broken my first DS because I opened it up to clean it, it took literal beatings all day, but a nice screwdriver through one of the chips inside did it in.

Haha, I expected exactly that reply from you! Yeah, cartridge systems are damn bulletproof. I have a model 1 Genesis, and it's older than I am - it works as if it were new. Nintendo is pretty faultless with their post '96 systems (some early Gamecubes had some DRE's), but every other manufacturer has fucked up hard - PS1, Saturn, PS2, Dreamcast, and X360 all had a good chunk of hardware issues, and I'm speaking out of my exp. with them... still, for a cheapass like me, launch systems are a no-go.

Launch PS3s are popping up with more and more people talking about the yellow light of death.

But Nintendo and SEGA are the only two manufactures I buy launch hardware from, since SEGA died, it's been Nintendo and it has yet to do me wrong, since every launch console did very well and I had a slew of quality titles from Nintendo to play, this launch seems no different so I'm staying the course lol

That's half Sony's fault and half users' fault. Sony could do better with its cooling, but it'll last far longer if you take the time to vacuum it and replace the anti-heat paste or whatever its called. It's nowhere near as bad as the v1,2,3,4,12 PS2 or early 360's.

But yeah, you can trust Nintendo hardware (can't say the same about post-saturn SEGA).

I pre-ordered 2 3DS units from amazon (you can pre-order 2 if you get 1 of each color).

I still may cancel both pre-orders.  I am currently trying to see some indication that pre-orders will sell out and the 3DS will be in short supply.

Personally, I don't need a 3DS yet.  There are enough good DS games coming in 2011 to keep me busy.

I will be more interested in a 3DS once a new Mario game is released.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D
