Forums - Sony Discussion - Demon's souls, everything they say about it is true!

i'm shocked that sales are as low as they are, this is truly an incredible game. When I bought the game all I knew about it was it was extremely hard, you'll die a lot but you'll love it. The first 10 hours of the game was really hard for me I had a hard time getting a few minutes into some levels without dieing, but it's all about trial and error, I dunno what it is that made me want to keep playing this game though, normaly I wouldn't press on with a game if it was this difficult for me (example: Ninja Gaiden Sigma...cant beat it), but for some reason after dieing hundreds of times (maybe even into the thousands) I just kepted on restarting over and over just to see the exciting conclusions.

After the 10 hour mark I found things got a little more easier, now that I had spells, good weapons and upgrades etc., I was actually getting through entire levels without dieing once (that is until I got to the final boss'), but that's just it by the time you beat Demon's Souls you are a MASTER at the game, you know everything that's gong to happen and what to do when you fight specific enemies to defeat them fast and efficiently.

The only problem I had with the game was the ending, I was expecting a eipc huge final boss but was dissapointed with what was presented to me, I wanted to fight a boss so hard that it required all my skills I've learnt throughout the entire game (although the old king allant was tough enough to be the final boss XO lol).

Anyway just thought I'd give my thought's of the game, I'm sure many people think the same since everyone that plays it seems to praise the game so much.

This game is something of spetacular spetacular.

I feel exactly like you man I loved the game and also the innovative multiplayer and like you I was disapointed with the last boss, New Game is extra hard! great game, great value, bring on Demon's Soul 2 and hopefully Sony have more faith in the game and this time the publish it for US and Europe with decent advertising.

Spetacular spetacular spetacular.

It's not as hard as people make it out to be, how did people ever reach that sentiment? By sucking relentlessly? It's memory dependent and challenging, but it's not ball-breaking hard.

If you play as Soldier/Royalty you will dominate this game.

I found the game very hard of course, that's its marque de fabrique.

However, It reminds me a lot of Metroid, the feeling of loneliness, exploration, difficulty. My only problem is the instakill enemies. I did not play a lot, since my backlog catalogue is pretty big.

Have you fight againts the 3 Red Eye Knights in Boletarian Palace 1-3 in NEW GAME PLUS ? But yea first playthrough is not that hard if you grind a little and have good spells.

In NG ? Yeah. It's tough, but not relentlessly hard.

8-bit era games mate, now THAT is hard.

Demon's Souls is and will remain my favorite game on the PS3.

Just watching the intro gives me the chills.

i honestly dont see whats so good about this and i love rpgs i played it for about an hour and got absolutly nowhere.

i just found it confusing and aimless. so i sold it, not sure if it got better. but i also cant stand not having saves often its boring getting somewhere then having to re do it. just gave up
