What's the big deal about a console passing half of another console's sales?

Are you aware that that's like making a race between a 4 legged horse and a 2 legged horse? As long as the PS3 could sell more than half of 360's numbers for enough weeks, that race was bound to get won.

it's funny you say that. i'd fire the people responsible for the abysmal failure rate. Which ties directly into marketing, business planning and quality perception.

I'm not japanese nor do I live in europe, but i go with what i know to be good. For example, I will only buy japanese cars. That's all i've ever owned and they've good to me so why would i even consider something else? same idea for game consoles.

 i think it goes beyond being an american company. better quality perception and games might help.

I don't think Japan hates the 360 cuz its made by Americans, its more like the small developers there are not making any games for the 360 so they are lacking the type of games they enjoy over there. Only the big Japanese companies are making games for 360 in Japan but they are also targetted for our market.

Europe in the other hand is definitely biased towards Sony even tho they got it worst of all the regions when it came to the PS3 package. Delayed for months, no emotion engine, 3x the price of other places. Go figure why so much love for Sony there! Lawsuits against Microsoft won't stop tho!

Next year will be very interesting indeed...
MS will surely be a lot more aggressive regarding price of 360(a decent price drop just before GTAIV has to be on the cards)...MS can afford it...
Sony has brand name and will easily overtake the 360 in Europe (PS2 owners more likely to upgrade to PS3, especially with the big games due to drop next year)which is good as Sony can't afford a price cut...
Nintendo has WiiFit...If they didn't release any other games next year (if you can call it a game) this alone would increase their lead over the competition...WiiFit will make the Wii crush the competition...

The PS3 will not catch the 360 in 2008. You can bet on that.

Its good to know the ps3 is finally gainning ground on the xbox 360.

 its already topped 50% of overall hardware sales worldwide. I'm predicting fall 2008 it will out sell it.
