Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Last Story gets a 10/10/9/9 in Famitsu

Some extracts to update the OP:

http://www.1up.com/news/japan-review-check-last-story-valkyria

"The battle system seems complex at first, but it's actually simple enough to control that even casual users won't have a problem,"

"There's a ton of strategy involved. Your party members talk a lot, too, which adds a great deal to the feeling that you're on an adventure."

"It's a very classical RPG but the battle system is revolutionary in the way it combines fast action with deep strategy. It allows for players to come up with original strategies for any situation."

Loosely translated version of one reviewer's final thoughts:

"The graphics are impressive, and the battle system is a fresh take for the genre.  Overall, it was a great experience, and Iwata-san's donation to our magazine was fairly generous.  However, Nintendo was not quite as generous as other companies like Capcom, so I must deduct a point from the game's final score.  Papa needs him a new yacht!"

I hope that's just a joke.

The saddest part about all this is that you have to hope, rather than know, that I'm just joking.  How the mighty have fallen...

It's got to a point now where a really high score in Famitsu holds more weight than a perfect one.

If someone is interested...

Arc Rise Fantasia 8/8/8/8

Tales of Graces 9/9/9/9

ASH 9/8/8/8

Xenoblade 9/9/9/9

Dragon Quest Swords 9/8/8/8

Opoona 8/8/8/7

Valhalla Knights: Elder Saga 7/5/5/5

Shiren the Wanderer 3 9/9/9/8

Dawn of the New World 8/8/8/7

Did Arc Rise Fantansia really get 8s accross the board? Man, those original japanese voice-overs needed to be in the US version.

It is most unfortunate that this game will never be localized. :(((((

'kay, so it's  definitely not a terrible game. And it has a massive advertising campaign.

Surely, 1m isn't too ridiculous...
