Forums - Gaming Discussion - A new perspective for FPS.

Yeah Omar, if only you could play a game as Iraqi insurgents blowing up American soldiers, Palestinians killing Israeli soldiers, and Nazis ("the axis side") killing British and American soldiers, and maybe running a few concentration camps to eliminate any remaining Jews...

Pretty much any game where you could kill Americans and Jews would be totally awesome, right?

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

I wouldn't mind killing me some Americans in an FPS. How about a game with Europe Vs the USA! Of course we all know Europe would school the US, but it would be fun anyway.

Yes

Wow people are off their heads if they think I should reported to authorities for my world view. I hate to tell you this, but there are 1.5 billion Muslims in this world and america and israel are pretty much disliked by all. Not so much american people but there leaders and invading Muslim countries. As for jews in israel I have never met another Muslim who has the least thing kind to say about them.

So much irony with people talk about "freedom and democracy" seems that you are free as long as you think the same way as them.

-UBISOFT BOYCOTT!-

It wouldn't sell in the US. Therefore it won't happen, as the US is the most important games market. Best guess for it happening is basically "Alternate reality" world where you are an insurgent causing trouble in communist russian cities where the USSR won. Pretty sure there was a game like that actually.

I don't see anything relating to terrorism in his post. If he wants to shoot at American soldiers, then he can do it all he wants, because that's what soldiers are for.

What he describes is pretty much a regular FPS with the roles changed anyway. Should the German authorities be alerted if anyone who's ever played a WW2 shooters wants to enter their country? I see you've got a bunch of CoD games as well as Wolfenstein on your owned games list, so you better watch out.

(I edited my earlier post a bit, since either yours got edited as well, or I totally failed at reading it)

The Nazi's have nothing to do with the current government however. In fact i'm pretty sure the Nazi party is still illegal in Germany. There arn't many games (any?) where the villain is an army for a government currently in power.

TBH, CoD 5 is 18 months away

There hasn't been a WW2 game for a while, I'm not surprised they are going back to a successful timeframe

You just openly stated that no muslim you have ever met a muslim that sees any value in an Israeli Jew. I personally know some Australian-muslims that think differently. Whilst they do not like much of what has happened in Palastine, they acknowledge that it is not all caused by jews and that it does not detract from the value of jews as human beings.

Take your anti-western views and spout them somewhere they are wanted. Given you are openly stating that Muslims are intolerant people, im sure a lot of the highly-tolerant muslims I know would dislike you even more than I do.

There would be an awful lot of settings to choose from if one didn't have to have one with the americans in the lead role.
How about a WW2 FPS where you take part in events BEFORE D-Day?
It'd be cool playing a belgian, french or even nordic partisan who could technically go into german occupied cities to take supplies, sabotage etc or who could roam the hills solo or with a companion with a sniper rifle and no CO's orders to mind!
That's the kinda game I'd like to play!

Or what about a WW1 shooter? I've never played one of those.

There is a reason you haven't played a WW1 shooter. Study WW1 warfare. It would be 6 hours of sitting at a trench, taking turns running to your death respawning while the other side snipes at you unhurt. A WW1 shooter would be even more boring then shooting games where guns had 10 minute reload times.

Ehm, excuse me, did you just compare the palestinians and Iraqi men who oppose invation to the nazi's?...

Wow... that's insightful.

I know how the "battles" in WW1 were fought, why do you think it's referred to as the "one foot war" at times? 30-50.000 dead to conquer a mere foot of land... Sad. But there are other aspects of the war, and there were dogfight tendencies in a few european outlying cities.
