Shattered Memories wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't call it (nor Homecoming) great. I think the problem with the franchise is that it's moved too far from it's roots, and Downpour (while doing the same in some areas) is really trying to bring SILENT HILL back to it's core purpose: survival.

Team Silent would really make a difference, but I'm willing to give Vatra Games the benefit of the doubt. They'd have to royally screw up Downpour.

The problem with the franchise is that they let non-Japanese develop it...since then it wasnt the same...

The PS2 got the Director's Cut also.

There's also a PC version.

OffTopic: Who's the girl in your avatar? Kinda looks like Jill from Resident Evil but I'm not sure...

On Topic: I'd like Konami to confirm what platforms this game is going to be released in... I'm going to buy a PC soon and I'd like to get this game on PC instead of PS3 so I hope a PC version is announced.

I don't know how this "open world" thing is going to affect the game... I mean it could end up being RPG-like and let you decide stuff that will change the events in the game... I wonder if that will happen to the same degree that happened in SH1 in which you could go to some places in the town (like the place where you meet Kaufmann) and change a few stuff to get a different ending... or if the changes will be bigger than that.

I also wonder what that monster in the trailers is... I hope it's some kind of "stalker" like Nemesis in Resident Evil 3 or every enemy in Haunting Ground :P That would be cool and would keep you on your toes because you don't know when the creature might appear and start stalking you :P It would make you feel unsafe all the time which in my opinion is pretty cool, lol.

It won't really be open world, but have branching paths. You'll have side quests, but the core game mechanic will remain linear and story driven.

Hmm... that sounds good I guess ^_^
