If SONY drops it's price, and MS doesn't follow, MS will lose a ton of sales.  PS3 is already outselling the 360 again and the flood gate of exclusives hasn't even been opened yet.  MS needs to drop it's price!

 

P.S If 360 has a price drop and SONY doesn't follow, it'll be nearly the same except PS3 will have some exclusives to counter act it.



Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

He's right about that. Nintendo or Sony will move first on price, and Microsoft will cut price around September/October I think.

I've been saying this for a while and its a pretty obvious prediction.  But, hey, blame the media for asking the man for a prediction every 15 minutes and then making it a story (and then the requisite gaming forum thread ...).


Nope, they cut the price in 2009.(at least in the USA) If I remember correctly, they discontinued the pro model, and cut the price of the elite model.

Yeah I could use a price cut too, that the Christmas deals this year might just push me to get a PS3, although I was thinking about picking up the older 80GB model or 40GB model, since they're discontinued can be obtained dirt cheap!

Well I personally find Phat to be much better looking than Slim! The only hassle I have with the phat is the HD space. Especially with the dreadful rumours of extremely long loading times unless the games are installed onto HD, in some cases installation being compulsory. I really don't like the colour of Slim and the case just looks so cheap in comparison with the phat's glossy finish.

Actually the 360 had its price cut the same week the ps3 slim was revealed in 2009. It was just overshadowed but the ps3 slim at the time.

Was that a true price cut?  Or just a SKU change?  Was it a Pro with a larger HDD or was it the full on Elite package?  I've seen many debates about that that end up being more semantical than anything ...

I think it was more of discontinued 60GB Pro models and the rerelease of 250G hard drive instead of 120, I don't think the price cut was worldwide as the price stayed the same it's the HD that changed over here in UK. Same price, different HD.

Once you get one, you will see how dusty it gets, even if you use it everyday. Also, it is easy to leave smudges. You can upgrade your hard drive though(at least that is what some people claimed).
