Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo has "no plans" to bring to The Last Story to the west

Wii-owning JRPG fans suffered a blow today after it emerged that The Last Story is unlikely to launch in the west.

Nintendo told VG247 it has "no plans at present" to bring Mistwalker's promising game to these shores.

The news is sure to disappoint JRPG fans. The Last Story, which is being helmed by former Square man Hironobu Sakaguchi, has garnered interest from the genre's enthusiasts in recent months after a series of Japan-focused trailers hit the internet.

Strange. This would seem like something that might actually sell a bit in the west, though I could be wrong of course.

I think 'no plans' mean 'wait for an announcement', didn't NoE deny the existance of the DSlite a day before it's announced?

I don't think Nintendo of America is that Stupid to not release their own IP worldwide.

Lately, dissapointments with Nintendo are getting to be too frequent and too many for any loyal fan to bear

What is wrong with these people?

DSLite is different though. If you're creating a better version of your hardware, you don't announce it one second before you're ready to put it on the market. There's no point in stalling sales of your current hardware by announcing that you'll be bringing new and improved hardware soon.

Saying that The Last Story might come to the west at some point would never have that sort of impact. Rather, you'd just see a bunch of happy gamers who won't have to mod their consoles and learn japanese to play the game.

So not the drama, Wii owners have plenty of third party games to fall back on this year.

Of course, I personnaly can't await for this Just Dance ripoff:

Above: still the best game of the year.
