And there will be games to play. Just look at the 2011 line up(exclusives and multiplats). I agree that gaming consoles should put most of their focus on gaming, but increasing the multimedia functions alongside gaming is amazing for everyone.

This actually makes sense. Sony TVs now have google TV service. Its integrated into the XMB. Bringing it to the PS3 shouldn't be too hard.

Exactly.  Google might be wanting to compete with MS in a broader way than just with phone OS..... they may want to dip their toes into competing with windows for PCs as well, even if not, they are already competing so i wouldn't think that google would want to offer this on the 360

It may help it, I guess to an extent. That only matters to those that look to use the PS3 very often. Honestly, this will make the PS3 better, but a partnership now would definitely help Sony with their next console right out of the gate. & that's all they really need at this point. Great things for now which will set them up for later.

this is good im not disputing that but me personally i would rarely use it as I use my PS3 for games, Bluray movies and nothing else. I havent even set up my Netflix or Hulu plus yet

This would be a killer app for the PS3....seriously google chrome is amazing so having that on the PS3 and google TV would be very good for Sony.

This is actually a fantastic point. Google and MS seem to be taking each other on. Will be bloody good to see the fight. Its actually pretty comical though when i installed firefox it gave me a choice of preferred search engine between bing! and google... i chose bing!
