Metal Gear Solid 4, nuff' said.

I'd have to say Final Fantasy IX, I can't describe how much I love that game. This gen only, probably MGS4; incredible game, too quickly forgotten about this gen and the ending was sensational. 

Halo, gears, ME, AC and TES IV.... Al great games with an amazing story

This gen im stuck between 2 :P either FFXIII for the best champaign (waits to get shot :D) the the game play left a little to be desired the worlds you visited where a thing of beauty and the characters grew on me :3 except Vanille >_> grrrr or MGS$. Do i rly need to explain mgs4? rly? no didnt think so ;). My all time favourite would be Persona 4! I loved that game so much >.<

Very difficult question. There is not just one game I can really pick. Right now if I had to pick a game, I would say it is a toss-up between Final Fantasy 8, Skies of Arcadia, and Xenogears.

OP, let me add that heavy Rain made me feel the same way at the time, too.  That part where those guys attacked Maddison in her apt. was so intense and scary, the first time I played through it that I instantly came on this site and posted that it was the most incredible gaming moment, ever.  I can agree with you on the quality of Heavy Rain, buddy.

MGS 4 since that's the only MGS I have played. The best single player game I have played.

Heavy Rain really is an amazing and unique experience...and the soundtrack is pure epicness
