Forums - Gaming Discussion - Your best video game single-player experience?

I'm not talking about only story or how good the character were.   I'm talking about the overall experience.

For me it was Heavy Rain.  I have never been so much into a game in my almost 15 years of gaming.  The story is just fantastic and the way you feel about the characters.  Also how you feel after something happens to a character.  Truly an amazing experience.  Also how you can make different choices to affect the story is simply marvelous.  Hopefully I get to play another game like this soon.

What is your best single-player experience?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Never has a game been so perfect.

Final fantasy 7 does it for me, well put together story, every main character has a great backstory to why they're doing what they're doing, great gameplay. Great music made emotional pieces just better and yea everything was good about it.

Hmm....

Almost all of the Zeldas enter my top 10, but I would have to put Roller Coaster Tycoon at #1, because of the not only emotional, but decisional impct it had on me.

i can still remember making the bridge over water and getting hundreds of people to walk on it. Block each end and slowly destroy the bridge. good times, good times. The game wasn't that bad but the rollocoasters where an pain in the ass to make

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Yes, the learning curb for construction was a bit much, but once I figured it out, the possibilities were (sort of) endless. I'm a theme park junkie, so combining my two favorite activities make heaven for me. :)

Also, killing people like you did let off lots of steam.

Well, FFVI is the obvious crown but I'll limit it to this generation only.

For this generation, I'm going to say Fable II for having the greatest ending of all time.
