Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii motion control is not what it is cracked up to be!

So on saturday some friends and I went to a video arcade to blow some cash. And I really mean blow some cash, those things are so expensive these days it is a miracle they are still around when $60 will last longer if used to purchase a pc/console game than at the arcade.

We played a variety of games and some of them included motion controls. To my surprise every game we played that featured motion controls left me wanting. Wanting better controls that is. A $10,000+ machine had worse motion controls than the Wii. So all the people trying to paint the Wii's motion controls as weak and not advanced apperantly are wrong.

Strange thread title for that post, or I am missing something.

Your topic title is all wrong. In your post you are claming the Wii has great motion controls compared to a $10,000 machine, but your topic title says the Wii has bad motion controls. I think we all know by now that if the developer isn't lazy, the Wii controls pwn anything else available on home consoles. Metroid Prime 3 proved Wii controls are better than dual-analog for FPS and RE4/Zelda proves Wii controls could make a last-gen game a new experiance.

I agree with your tittle but that's it.
Try playing wii boxing and you'll see what I mean, playing it feels like the simulation of boxing with drunks, lag FTW!!!

Play Wii fit Boxing

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I'll take wii golf as the worst one. While I enjoyed playing wii tennis and baseball, golf was easily the worst with incredibly bad response.

no thanks, if I want a good boxing game then I'll play Fight night round 3, or punch a boxing bag

Lol. The games included in Wii Sports aren't meant to be realistic. Tennis is simply backhand/forearm, bowling gives you barely any spin control, golf is fairly good, baseball is as useless as tits on a bull and boxing is the most gimmicky of them all. They are meant to be additive family/party fun, not retarded boring simulation like GT5

Im pretty sure he never said it meant to be realistic, he just said themotion controls were poor which made the game annoying.

Though to be honest, after reading you call GT5 (a game not released and therefore youve never played), retarded boring simulation, I lost all respect for your opinion.

I titled the thread the way it is because the industry press/nintendo haters shape up the motion controls to be clunky and unresponsive. I guess I didn't cover that enough in my orriginal post though.
