Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Kinect is sucessful. What should Nintendo do?

Drop a nuclear bomb on each of 'em Kinect factories.

It doesn't matter if the $500 million campaign wasn't solely for the Kinect. It was the primary goal, and still basically ate up the revenue of 3.33 million kinect units (which means they really needed to sell a lot).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Nothing.

Nintendo should stick to their plans which I am sure are to put out a few quality Nintendo IPs this year (zelda FTW!) and then begin pushing the next home console at E3 2012.

This year the only hardware they will be focusing on is the 3DS and its software.

Regardless of these motion options from PS360, Wii is still selling very well in its life. It may have lowered from the peak years, but that doesn't mean it isn't selling well still and still being very profitable for Nintendo.

Any pricecuts from PS360 can easily be matched, so that is not an issue either.

I still expect new home consoles in 2012. That E3 is going to be amazing.

Going by the the $150 U.S. retail price, more Kinect units had to be sold to make up for the $500 million because of wholesale retail cost.

To the people saying if MS bring out their next console first and using the PS3 as an example a lot of the PS3's woes were from Sony themselves, the high price and wayward handling of its launch year and early struggling library hit Sony more then anything MS did. I don't see Nintendo making the same mistakes tbh.

What they should do?

Not listening to the so called hardcore gaming boys aged 18-25 who thinks they know better then a company that have been around since 1889 and never had a "red" year

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

18-25? More like 10-30 year olds.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Why should nintendo do anything? Last time I checked they were happily crushing the competition regardless of Kinect.

i am pleased with Kinects sales but some of the you seem to think Kinect is some sort of new rocket science, time for a reality check. It's a moving camera(s) with software.

With all the Kinect clones coming out of Asia Nintendo should be able to pick up one for a fraction of the price should they so desire.

i'm not suggesting this is what nintendo should do, and this could be another alternative to a price cut but i hope nintendo would bundle some of their top games such as a Wii Edition Twilight Princess, Mario Kart, even Metroid Prime Trilogy complete with a designed Wii, Wiimote, Nunchucks.
i'm sure they can even release Animal Crossing, Wii Music, & a Pikachu Wii Edition and sell really well.

it would be great to also see third-party games like just to soften their relationship with the developers even more so

i have been considering purchasing a Black Wii and i would buy any of these instead; a 25th anniversary red wii, my gf already has.

now, a price cut on top of this would be icing on the cake.
