BRUNCH WITH MC HAMMER?!

*begins to hyperventilate*

For those who claim to hate Harry Potter, have you actually read the books or are you basing your opinions on something less substantial?

 I happened to read the first three, and I've seen all the movies. Why? So I would have a basis for critiquing it. The only person who is more generic and fails more than her is Christopher Paolini... 

As a person trying to make it into publishing myself, I am saddened by the level of fresh authors who sell in the millions, and even more saddened when people call HP Fantasy... Herecy I say! Ironic thing is; right now I'm in talks with the publisher who releases HP here in Norway...  

 I second that; Harry Potter books are in my mind, close to Lord of the Rings just a bit more childish. Rowling has a unique talent in giving life and style to her characters.

At least you gave it a chance. To be fair, the real depth and scope of the story doesn't become apparent until the longer books (starting with the fourth). The author has admitted to keeping the early books more simple in order to give them a better chance to gain an audience.

Even so, if you don't like it, you don't like it. No big deal.
