PS3's 2011 Exclusive Games Line-up One of Best in Video Game History, says Analyst

With PlayStation Move being a key focus for Sony during the last quarter of 2010, there weren't that many traditional titles for the hardcore to snatch up, except for Gran Turismo 5. In 2011, however, Sony is gearing up for a number of 'AAA' exclusives for its platform, which should make PS3 owners quite happy. 

"With Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, and Infamous 2 all set to release in 2011, Sony is on track to deliver one of the most impressive line-ups of exclusive titles in the history of video games," noted EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich in a recent IndustryGamers feature.

The PS3 is now only a few million units behind the Xbox 360 in global installed base, and some analysts do think the console has a legitimate chance of overtaking the 360 in 2011. Certainly, having exciting exclusive titles for a platform like Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 can go a long way towards further enticing consumers. What would help even more, however, would be another hardware price cut on PS3, as Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has suggested.

ps3 wont pass 360 in 2011, but its 1st party line up is impressive. but the sad part is 2012 is going to be weak.

It's all about content, man.  And I'm VERY doubtful as well that the PS3 will surpass Xbox 360 sales even with a price drop.  But 2012, too far away to tell.

No love for LBP2?

They mentioned exclusive games and I'm pretty sure that's exclusive as well, right?

I dont think it will surpass 360 in 2011 either, but I would surprise if Sony doesnt have a great 2012 also. They literally have an army of first and second party studios.

 It's worth remembering that some of these 2011 titles people keep citing will end up in 2012, simply because Sony don't need to release the 14 something exclusives currently announced all in one year. It's more a matter of which will get pushed, I'm going for InFamous 2, Last Guardian and Twsited Metal personally.

 No doubt we'll have some new announcements for 2012 too later in the year, reckon MAG will see a sequel, Sly Cooper 4 was confirmed too and Jak and Daxter are due a return. Maybe we'll start to see Sony move it's focus to PSP2 software though, time will tell :).

if you look at the possibilities 2012 will proably have ff versus 13 agent and the last guardian and probably gg's new ip. but thats still weak compared to the 2011 line up.

I dont understand...is this a thread about PS3 passing 360 in sales or about Sony's great exclusive games?

It's on the pc and 360 as well.

See title of thread.  Potential surpassing of Xbox 360 sales is of secondary nature.  So know you know like the rest of us.
