Forums - General Discussion - Please Help Advance Gaming Research (takes 10-15 mins)

Hi all,

I'm a graduate student working on a PhD in Communication at the University of Buffalo.  My current research is on defining "hardcore" gaming and I'm using an online survey to gather data.

If you are willing to help further this gaming research, here is the important information:
A) Its purpose is to advance gaming research.
B) The survey is entirely online.
C) It takes about 10-15 minutes.
D) It's entirely anonymous.
E) It's entirely voluntary.
F) The link to take the survey is: http://www.buffalo.edu/~jl298/

Thanks in advance. Any and all submissions are appreciated!

Finished it. I wasn't sure if 'nintendo', 'sony' and 'microsoft' was refering to the games, the userbase, or the company in general. Perhaps distinguishing between these areas would have been better.

I sincerely thank you.

You raise a good point, but the company names are simply used conceptually.  So, it's very straight-forwardly: "what comes to mind when you hear [Company X]?".  If it's strictly the games, that's fine.  If it's the users, the corporate practices, the marketing, the sales, or any combination there of -- that's fine too. There's really no wrong answers. =)

Again, much appreciated!

I took it. One thing I want to say. There is no such thing as a "hardcore" or "casual" gamer. That is all

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Just did the survey, and it was mostly fine, but I don't quite see the need for having the same question asked the other way around as it was in many cases

Just submitted mine.

Never done a Slider Survey before but I love surveys so I did this.

Good luck with your research.
