Because we're tired, Galaki.  We're tired.

And now that Kinect is successful, guess what's next?  Minority Report, that's what.  Fucking PreCogs arresting us for crimes BEFORE we even comit them,  And then, Skynet.  Goddam Judgement Day (or The Matrix.  I don't fucking know.).  Nothing good will come from Kinect being suuccessful.  And yes.  I am butthurt.  That poop was too big.  Too big.

This is seriously fucking hilarious.  d21lewis you always crack me the hell up but this may even be some of your best work yet.  Holy shit I think I'm crying I laughed so damn hard.

The reason i and many others are downplaying Kinect. Is because if its a success (which is already is) Microsoft will probably focus even more on casual games which i don't want. I have a Wii, never played any title with Wii in the title except Mario Kart Wii and NSMBWii go figure. I don't want that type of games, Microsoft is the only company publishing exclusives for 360 anymore, so if they are going casual, i just got the same games i can play on my PS3. While the PS3 got those games plus, Uncharted 3 etc. See what i am getting at?

Think about it for a while, this will hurt the core audience in the end. Unless Microsoft starts focusing more on the HC games which they probably wont if Kinect is making them more money (except the occational Halo and Gears).

No.

Microsoft will still chase after both audiences and be a true gaming machine for all styles of play.  The entire reason the Xbox was called the 360 was because MS said they were going to get every kind of game for every kind of audience, thus a 360 full effect.  There will still be Halo, and Gears, and stuff like Codename Kingdoms as well as all the casual games. And thats the way it should be, a system doesn't have to only cater to one kind of audience.

I know, neither Nintendo caters to only one audience, but lets say Microsoft Game Studios only get 1 Billion in budget (completly made up number) a couple of years ago, probably over 90% would go to exclusive HC games and DLC. Today, probably 50% at the most (again completely made up number) 2 years from now if Kinect keeps selling probably less than 30% (made up). See what i am getting at?

I see your point but at the same time the entire Xbox division is now bringing in more money from Kinect hardware and sofware sales.  In fact its bringing in TONS of money cause MS has already stated that they make profit on every Kinect sold.  So thats more cash to use on the development of games both Core and Casual.  And its not like Kinect will be only casual games.  Project Draco and Steel Battallion as well as the Gears Kinect title and Forza 4 are all core titles that use Kinect and thats just stuff thats already announced.

I am butthurt. MS shouldn't use it's "money advantage" against the competition, it's uncalled-for and dishonourable.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Don't be afraid. You'll get Crysis 2, Bodycount, Brink, XCOM, Bioshock 3, Forza 4, a new COD and a lot more as well. ;)

Post of the day.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

I have no ideea...people should be very happy its selling like this,it's making gaming even more popular!
