So WII is way overtracked? I think 360 may outsell WII in Dec NPD.

Read the rest of the thread.  There is no way way 360 has any chance of beating Wii in December NPD.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

What NPD numbers for December 2010 ?

I'm pretty sure they haven't released anything yet

The 2.3 NPD estimate is based on 4.7 through November. To get to 7 million they would sell 2.3 in December (actually through Jan 1).

My guess is that it won't be over 3 million, otherwise they would have mentioned that in the PR as well (2 years in a row over 3 million)

Didn't Nintendo's internal tracking suggest that NPD might have been undertracking the Wii by a couple hundred k back in September? They say this is from their internal data here so it might be even lower than what we're thinking.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

How do you figure? 360 isn't mentioned at all in this statement or the majority of the thread.

In December 2009 Nintendo's internal data showed that they had sold around 3m units, if I'm not mistaken.
NPD showed almost 4m.

So you never know.

Nothing unexpected for Wii. "Over 7 million" could still be 8.5m even though this is PR -- my guess is that they just wanna show off when NPD releases or they simply have a wide range (7.5m-8.5m?) so they can't say over 8m or something because it may not necessarily be factually accurate as the lowest possible sales are lower than that.

Still hoping for 4m this December, ;).

Awesome for DS, though, :D!

With next week Americas figures it'll do 4 mill for Dec?

So this 7 mill figure and going by what it's done Jan - Nov means it's done 2.3 - 3.2

At the minimum an 800k gap, some can be contribuited to Mexico ect .. but nowhere near 800k o_O, o does indeed look overtracked.

2.3-3.2 is US . 4 million (if it is indeed 4 million and not less) is Americas. 4 million * 0.87 = 3.48 . But I would wait for both next week's numbers and NPD

34 million in America and 39 including  Canada and Mexico.

No, 34M in the USA. Canada and Mexico are also from America.

I applaud hardware sales.. Nintendo clearly had a strong holiday.

But they gave a lot of software with the hardware bundles.  New Super Mario Bros, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Sports. This will kill their tie ratio for software.

I expect hardware to be down 10-15% y/y and software down 20% in December NPD.

Remember that software is where they make the most money...
