Forums - PC Discussion - Help With Mass Effect Resolution Please

I just downloaded Mass Effect off Steam. I bought it ages ago on sale, but only got around to downloading and installing today. The first thing I did upon installing was head into options to check the settings. I was quite surprised to see I couldn't put the resolution above 1280*1024. Surely that's not the max resolution, is it? I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with my system, as I'm using a 22" 1920*1080 monitor, Radeon 5870, Phenom II X6 1055T and 8 gigs of RAM. I'm also sure I've played Mafia 2 at 1920*1080, so it must be something to do with the game, right?

Am I missing something? Is there some way to change this? Any help would be appreciated!

Around the Network

This is the most relevant point (I had exactly the same problem)-

Also some people don't notice that there are scroll buttons on the resolution list in the game's options (they're the same color as everything else and kind of get lost in the background). You probably just needed to scroll down...

I had this problem as well, but my solution was to go to the configuration utility without starting the actual game, go to display and make sure my video card showed up, then go back to video and my monitor resolution was available. I'm not using the steam version, though.
