Last week, kids of all ages dropped everything to plug a $150 device called Kinect into their Microsoft Xbox 360 game consoles. Five million sold in the last two months.

Well MS did say they expected to sell 5 million connects this holiday season, so they may just be going off of that number.

This and not only that but I think MS has reached that goal right? And I'm sure if they have, they could very well give that info to WSJ.
