Because periphreal sales are completely comprabable to console sales. Especially when that periphreal is bundled.

Anyway, we certainly don't need this many "ZOMG! Kinect wuz suksesfol u guys wur rong lol" threads.

Kinect is completely destroying Eye Toy in aligned launches, despite having a far smaller userbase. I think this happened because a lot of people were hungry for something a little new, and advertizing kicked in really fast. In Americas, Kinect's 8 weeks has already outsold eyetoy's American lifetime sales.

I predict that Kinect adventures will go on to outsell all other 360 software. The strong momentum of the game should continue into early 2011 and shoot back up for the holidays, and this is all happening despite a very weak Japanese market. Europe and Americans are loving this so much. I think the reason for all this happening is that Kinect was produced by the casual audience brought to gaming by the wii, and that 360 is now sharing a similar audience to the console leader this gen.

Anyway, to all the people who thought Kinect would "Fail", "just be a fad", those people who said "360 userbase is too small", "It has bad reviews", "wii is the new king of gaming", "casual audience is on a decline", blah blah blah blah blah...

I know this thread is similar to the GT5 one but since that didn't get reported I guess this one would be alright :) enjoy!

bumping every 5 million because they are big milestones I can see, bumping every 2 million is ridiculous overkill and if you do it you'll be moderated for spamming.

hehe is it really? maybe it is but according to an article posted on VG it may also be breaking 360's. So if it is responsible for breaking the console than the more they sell the worse they may be off.

5m units sold is actually an amazing start. Just a matter of time before its 10 million units sold.

BOB,BOB, BOB.... My mom got one, my aunt, sister and non of them owned a xbox 360. thats not including others I was surprised got one. You are full of it if you think that it has not sold to new customers . MY sister works a wal-mart and I had to wait for when she knew there was a shipment to get a bundle for my cousin because they sold out in hours. not the stand alone, the bundles. Maybe thats just my area but most likely not. Actually the stand alones where easier to get after a while.
