what i dont get is why does anyone WANT kinect to fail, im not the biggest fan of 360 myself, but the only logical reason to hate Kinect is if your a 360 fan who is afraid that MS might put more emphasis on the Kinect library and less on "core" titles, if you dont have a 360 or care for it then it really wouldnt matter if its a success or failure to you anyway

before the move and kinect game out their were more then 75 million people who hated motion controls

That's not necessarily true as many people who bought a Wii double dipped and bought another console, I and many of my friends certainly did.  Unfortunately the problem many gamers had with motion controls as time went by was the lack of imagination from developers in their implementation.  This might not change with Kinect or Move either but some people are willling to give them a chance first I guess.

I don't get either Nintendo or Sony fans who want Kinect to fail, any success it has can only drive developers to push their motion controllers too.

And here I thought PS3 fans were annoying, :P.

Really feel like making a "Looks like Wii's performance has made haters even more desperate silent!" thread now...

Wii is still the king. Kinect might sell better than the Move controller, but you can't say that it's better than Wii.

Weekly the Wii is selling better the Xbox. Week after Week. Even though Kinect is out. Recently the EA Sports Active 2 was released. It's more than any other game having focus in the casual gamers. It has sold 3 times more on Wii than on Xbox with its Kinect. Casuals still prefer the Wii.

Also look at the more famous Wii Sports Resort. Even though it's in its 79th week it outsells Kinect Sports by about 500.000 in this week. It also managed to outsell Kinect Adventures this week in America, even though Adventures is bundled with Kinect.

horrible comparisons.

EA Sports Active has a history on the Wii unlike on PS3 and 360.

Wii Sports Resort has been bundled the whole year with Wii Sports and a Wii. Thus outselling Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures is absolutely no achievement.

true, im only stating that their are people who hate motion controls, and for those reasons they would want something like move or kinect to fail.

i wanted kinect to fail, same thing with move, and the wii, simply because i hate motion controls and what they represent, their fun and are sometimes a nice change of pace but i woudnt buy them unless their was a big reason. i currently have the playstation move but its still in its box, i only took out the eye for head tracking on gt5, since i coudnt find a ps eye i got the move because it was bundled with it.

these days when i go to a video game store everyone are at the motion control stands, i see grown men having fun with games like beat sketch and wii sports,  thats were the industry is going towards a motioned controlls dominated market, and i hate that.

thats a reason why someone would hate on kinect or the move or the wii other then fanboys.

I can see that some people see motion control as a threat to core genres but I don't think it will spell the end so I guess I cdon't understand that fear element.  It's a fair point though.

Good to see something other than the Wii succeed at this.  The Kinect is just the next step in this and i am sure that a few years from now, there will be another step up.  The reason we should all be glad that the Kinect is successful, is that it continues to grow the overall video game market.  Once you get that person that "never" plays video games to try it with Kinect/Move/Wii,  it is not such a stretch for them to try some of the controller based games.  After they do that, they go but a system and maybe even a few games.  This results in more systems sold and more games sold to support publishers.  I hate certain kinds of games, but i know that when that game sells, most of the time publishers produce multiple different kinds of games and maybe one of their other games will match my interests.  Either way, its a Win for all gamers.

I don't think that even matters though, Nintendo pretty much dominates the Universe this gen with pure gaming machines without the PC BS argument. I just don't know why people are happy Kinect is selling well, it took me a long time to not get too embarrased when playing the Wii, and I eventually managed to hide a lot of movements and figured out ways to not look retarded, but such option is not there when playing Kinect games, you are just a laughing stock to everybody that's around you, fuck that, I'm too beautiful to get laughed at.

We will see if it was successful or not later on.
