Forums - Sales Discussion - Looks like Kinect's performance has made haters silent!

Regardless of Kinect hardware sales, its curent application of software has no appeal to me.  No hate, just stating personal perference.  Was that silent enough?

Wii is still the king. Kinect might sell better than the Move controller, but you can't say that it's better than Wii.

Weekly the Wii is selling better the Xbox. Week after Week. Even though Kinect is out. Recently the EA Sports Active 2 was released. It's more than any other game having focus in the casual gamers. It has sold 3 times more on Wii than on Xbox with its Kinect. Casuals still prefer the Wii.

Also look at the more famous Wii Sports Resort. Even though it's in its 79th week it outsells Kinect Sports by about 500.000 in this week. It also managed to outsell Kinect Adventures this week in America, even though Adventures is bundled with Kinect.

Exactly.

Did anyone ever doubt that Kinect would actually sell well initially?  A $500 million dollar marketing campaign pretty much sealed that deal.   It's been the continued sales of the peripheral that I and many others have had doubt in.

Will Kinect still  be selling gangbusters a year or two from now?  I strongly believe it won't be.  Unless Microsoft can come up with some original ,creative, compelling software (Another huge, huge question in my eyes).

Yeah, take that haters! Kinect is selling a lot more than many of you expected/wished. It will keep selling, no matter how many bitter tears you'll shed.

We're just awaiting the moment to strike. Then the Kinect will be as doomed as the PSP Go!

That my friend is something not to forget. Your statement will be remembered.

when you invest half a billion dollars into marketing, of course that things gonna sell, question is, will M$ efforts pay off, or will they sink further into the red.

As a gamer, I would have prefered M$ spend that money on making games us hobbiest enjoy, rather than making kinectamals for the retard next door that only follows trends because it's the cool thing to do or have..

Microsoft's Xbox division isn't in the red currently, and hasn't been for awhile iirc.  360 actually stands to possibly make a profit this gen overall, which is a feat that looks well outside PS3's grasp.

And the "core" Kinect games are coming next year.  Microsoft already announced a shit load of them coming out of Japan (Project Draco, Codename D, Haunt, etc), plus there's stuff we already know about like Forza 4 and the Gears spinoff.

How is that related to this thread and the post your replying to?

Im Glade kinect is a success but I just hope this doesnt dissrupt the non kinect exclusive games for 360!!!

2011 is looking lackluster already

You can await as long as you want, I'm not betting avatar control or anything for the matter.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Aren't you a Wii hater? How in the hell can you hate the Wii yet love the Kinect? Mind is blown..

Funny, I wanted to ask the same from you.

But no, I am not a wii hater. How did you come to that conclusion? What made you think that I love kinect?
