ok I predict

Wii - 16 million (I expect more losses mabye I'm lowballing it. I could have a price cut)

Ps3 - 14 million (With 50 dollar price cut and move keeps selling how it is)

Xbox 360- 14 million (With 50 dollar price cut and if kinect still does well)

DS - 14 million (Decline because of 3DS)

3DS - 18 million (Early start this year and will have huge holiday I believe)

PSP - 7 million (PSP 2 launch will make declines harsh)

PSP 2 - 2.1 million (Late start in the year and PSP brand isn't that strong)

PS2 - 4 million (Will remain flat because a lot of Developing nations are starting to play video games)

There you have it!

Wii 15M - Sept  thru week before BF week was down 20% yoy and even with holiday boost was down 10% yoy remainder of the year.  Expect this to continue. As for price cut is Nintendo really going to drop price to $150 and still give away software they could sell for $100 combined?

360 15M - Expect slim and Kinect boost to continue through the year.

PS3 14M - Settling in to a nice 3rd place position and no events left to really change that cant be easily countered.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Anyway.

14 million 360

13 Million PS3

19 million Wii

Why would PS3 be down YoY

The PS3 was coming off a high in early 2010, Unless we see a price drop it will be down early this year compared to 2010. And with Sony unable to to come up big in holiday times, I see it being even or a little bit up compared to 2010.

Wii-18mil(Same as last year, ok sales till holidays, then huge sales.

PS3-13.5mil(Consistant sales throughout the year but with the weakest holiday sales of the 3 consoles. Will not have a pricecut.)

360-13.5mil(Sales will decline till holidays where Kinect will get a pricecut and sales will get really high over holidays)

DS- 17mil(Declined sales over the year with a huge boost in the holidays because 3ds will be expencive so this will be the casual portable of choice)

3DS- 14mil(Good sales, will suffer from supply issues though)

PSP- 6mil

No idea, just that all 3 are capable of being up YoY thanks to price cuts. All as equal as each other

A $50 360 cut with a $50 Kinect cut is as powerful as a $100 PS3 cut as is also as powerful as a $50 wii cut with bundles again.

I see a more even christmas with Wii ahead, and Wii logically taking Q1 but 360 pullling ahead Q2 given it's the only console coming out of christmas with something to keep momentum going (I assume Wii holiday bundles will stop?)

And no a bunch of core games isn't going to keep any 1 console in 1st place ..

I can't put down figures, because other than Wii winning I have no idea what the other 2 will do vs each other.

I don't think any of the 3 will price cut Jan-September but then I might be proven wrong ..

Wii~21 M I think it will sell a lot 2011 set for an wonderful year

DS~18 M

3DS~22 M

XB360~12 M

PS3~15 M

"doubt a 360 price cut will boost it much it had so many deals this year its not even funny and it even has another one of those gift card deals at a big retailer again for this or next week, so those who wanted one with a HDD for $200-250 must of already bought one recently

i believe that most of its sales where for the new features of its HW redesign more than its price and that redesign will have worn off by summer time 2011"

I really wonder why people say you're a great predictor when you come out with stuff like this ...

To your first comment, no, not even close.

The HW design selling power will likely subside in a couple of weeks. But that wasn't what was selling 360's over the holiday, over half the 360's bought were Kinect bundles.

If Kinect does see lacklustre sales in the year, it'll still give the 360 somewhat of a boost. So what boost is PS3 going to get during the year? it's price cut will be very old. The core games arnt going to shift which console is in the lead.

Like I said just now, if Kinect does subside drastically in the year, it's obvious it's akin to the WIi in that it's a holiday seller. So when it gets a price cut along with a HW price cut, is when you'll see its true potential. A Kinect and 360 HW cut will see it do leaps and bounds above this years holiday sales.

PS3 had to get a price cut to get to 1 million units in a week, 360 did it twice in a row and hasn't cut baseline price since 2008.

Kinect is far more powerful than a price cut.
