Forums - PC Discussion - PC Crysis sales in crisis, Unreal Tournament 3 too.

They want to make the money from selling the engine, the games are just a tech demo.

I think this game will have legs..

Like people say the system requirements are high but when time pass more more people have systems that can play this game on normal system requirements;

Huh?  How does Intel get blamed for their integrated graphix???  Are you saying Intel should provide top-line performace graphix INTEGRATED for zero cost???

If anything, the blame should be on companies that produce games that require steep requirements and possibly GPU makers pricing on their high-end cards.

crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.

the 8400gs costs $43 is it that hard to make an integrated chip that runs equal to it? the Nvidia 7150 runs well for an integrated chip wtf is intel's problem.

I'll wait for UT3 to drop to 20-30 range, just like I did UT2k4 (because it just doesn't seem worth more to me). Crysis isn't doing anything that makes me want to play it, so I'll probably never see it in action. Well, maybe if I get that ATI/AMD 3870 512mb card and Crysis hits $20. ;)

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Or they could just... not use intergrated graphics... and instead use a card like everyone else.

both games are selling really well in germany - I wouldn't be surprised if Crysis was to hit 1 million in sales in german speaking countries alone

I seriously doubt that Crysis would be good on consoles.

Current Consoles: Xbox 360 Elite, Playstation 2, Gaming Rig, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3.

Xbox Live: Jessman_Aus - Playing: Ace Combat 6, Fifa 09

Playstation Network: Jessman_Aus - Playing: MGS4, Resistance 2

Wii Freind Code: 3513-9191-8534-3866 - Playing: SSBB

Brawl Code: 1590-6125-1250

Xfire: J3ssman - Playing: Fallout 3, Farcry 2

Jessman: Fears the Mangina

I picked up Crysis for £19.99. It runs at minimum settings on my PC but doesn't not look great!!

I am upgrading my PC next year so the game will look sweet.

I think this graphics etc. issue is mostly about RAM/VRAM requirements. Since the difference between 360/PS3 CPU and GPU performance compared to PC isn't that big, and since you can't optimize games to a certain hardware on PC, you leave a lot of unused potential, when you can optimize the programs on consoles, which has closed system on hardware, and use their full potential.
So, basically i would see Crysis on 360 more likely than PS3, since 360 has more flexible RAM than PS3.
Now also one thing to note about PC:s, is that they run the operating system while playing games, which requires resources and with consoles you don't run the OS, when every resource is going for the games.

And what it comes to Intel with motherboard integrated GPU, i think it's a good thing. I had a desktop PC with integrated graphics chip, everything worked just fine, i never had any compatibility issues. And if i would have wanted, i could have bought separate graphics card to it. Of course, PC:s with integrated graphics chips don't offer the same performance than PC:s with separate cards, but anyone who plays games with PC, knows that if you want to play latest games, you need to buy the most expensive hardware, not the cheapest.
