Forums - Sales Discussion - How many 360 buyers are replacing broken ones?

I'm curious to know how much of the 360 sales are attributed to people replacing broken down ones.

Nobody knows.

Many of the malfunctioning units had extended warranties and were repaired by MS.

I think the point is how many real userbase number the 360 has....?

if yours broke in the first 3 years it got fixed for free.... only the impatient or those looking for a new model should be replacing theirs.... mine got shipped off twice, launch box has been fine since then... it would be nice to see all three of the big three have a three year repair plan ive replaced quite a few sony, nintendo, consoles over the years (no sega console ever failed for me). only one original XB it died not to long ago... brother knocked a a giant wax candle over on it and the wax finished the thing off

I'm also curious to know how much of the PS2 sales are attributed to people replacing broken down ones due to Disc Read Errors.

I'm curious about PS3 as well.

It seemed like consoles were bricking with every firmware update about a year ago. Even some games were accused of breaking units. Sony didn't extend warranties on those.

Its a wacky question!

Ye YLOD on older models in particular, hate to be touchy but the burn was alot worse than RROD to the consumer, but in considerably smaller quantities.

@OP, Trolololololololool.

Now, before someone starts pulling in random internet surveys bear in mind. ANYONE CAN TAKE THEM. For all you know 4chan flooded them and rigged the votes, internet research studies - null and void.

Microsoft damage control squad was fast in this topic ;)

Out of my 3 real life friend who had x360 from first year two of them still work and one of them bought slim (and now plans to sell his old working one). The guy whose x360 broken bought pc ;)

Yeah now just waiting for the PS3 Attack Brigade to jump on board with random links to random internet surveys where apparently 43% of 360 owners got RROD, and miraculously no one got a YLOD or any other significant failure of any sort.

That's all we need to turn this thread into a flame war that OP wanted it to, btw ,

Disclaimer: Loads of swearing in that link but the song is jolly, for adult humour >_>

Just the 360?

You can include the PS3 and the YLOD in that, plenty of PS3 are going tits up as well.

Whats the point of this thread again, if we really need to know the true figures for the 360, PS3 also needs to be looked at to balance the argument.
