You forgot about Hunters and Pimball :P

I believe Retro will come back to doing a Metroid game, but now a 2D decent one, since Iwata will fire Sakamoto for going insane (I would at least).

lol.  Iwata's more likely to shut down Retro than he is fire Sakamoto.  SPD1 has at least proven they can craft original hits (Wario Ware, Rhythm Heaven, Tomodachi Collection), which more than can be said for Retro.  Other M might've bombed, but SPD1's been so overwhelmingly successful (on such tiny budgets), that it doesn't matter.

I don't recall saying SPD1. Just firing Sakamoto is enough, bring another dude on his place, because it is obvious he doesn't know how to run his job.

He knew exactly what Nintendo told him to do. If Nintendo had thought Other M was going badly at any point in its development, they would have scrapped it. Now under the Yamauchi regime, Sakamoto might've been fired as a sacrificial lamb (i mean they did it to Gunpei Yokoi, and he was coeval with Miyamoto in his time), but Iwata knows a moneymaker when he sees one

Yokoi was forced out because of Virtual Boy.  Other M might be a relative bomb, but it's nothing compared to that gigantic failure... hell, lifetime Other M's going to sell more than VB did. :P

Retro Studios should be the ones to make the new Star Fox game. Also DKCR probably will outsell the Prime series. DK just appeals to more people.

Doubt it.  Any Star Fox revival will either come from EAD (who're remaking SF64 for 3DS), Q-Games (who did Command) or hopefully Platinum Games (who WANTS to do it really badly!).

I think Retro could do a good job with something like F-Zero though, but I expect we'll be seeing DKCR2 on Wii  before anything else from them.

Odds are, that might be the "Other M collaboration" surprise of next-gen. AFAIK Platinum isn't working on much after Vanquish; I'm not sure what their upcoming project is. Why not be employed by Ninty?

I think PG would be good with StarFox too. Their games have been fairly short this gen, but they have been able to cramp quite the amount of detail into them. Give em' 12 Starfox levels; 2-4 brief side levels, and we got ourselves the Flight-Shooter of Next-gen!

Platinum is still under a partnership deal with SEGA, which has been extended for the upcoming project you mentioned and is allegedly working really well for them. I can't see them breaking off that just to make a Star Fox game to appease one guy in their company.

I find it interesting...Retro puts their heart and soul into prime for 9 years and scrap ~7million in sales. Then, Retro reduces staff and produces a seemingly easier game to make. The result is more sales then the prime series.

I wonder if the gamecube would have surpassed the xbox with a decent DK game.

Yes, I thyink it will!

I think that it might sell twice as much.

It's so sad the Metroid Prime series never sold as well as it deserved. I think the series was too hardcore for the average GC owner, and much too hardcore for the average Wii owner (though I guess Prime 3 was a bit more casual friendly than the first two). Which is why they went in a new direction with Other M, but Other M sold like a Metroid game would without the critical acclaim; solid scores but not great. I think for the next Metroid game Nintendo just has to respect the series hardcore roots. Hopefuly even if it's just a evolved port a 3DS Prime game will come, and off that they'll build it to the next console Metroid, which may not come until the Wii's successor comes but what an amazing launch title or soon after launch title it could be. Whether Retro does it or not is just has to be a great game, because good just won't cut it with this series.

I think Metroid Prime is a more niche game, it's in 1st person and many adventure game players may not like that, it has slow gameplay and puzzle-solving that may not like to most FPS players... I doubt it would sell more than DK on any platform.

It definately deserves it. It is the second best DKC game imo, only beaten by DKC 2.

How did you ever get past that bee swamp level? It kicked my ass over and over again *cries*.

I did beat the first DKC if that's worth mentioning though.

@ OP

Yes. More people know about donkey kong than Metroid.

I hope not. Not that DKR is a bad game but's I want retro to make a new metroid game(wheater it will be a 2D or 3D).And if it sells well enough they might make a sequel.
