Wondering where NSMBW will end up, 30 million LTD?

So COD as a franchise has sold over 20M this year alone.Probably much more than that considering COD4 sales on all platforms, and PC sales for MW2 and Black Ops.Pretty much amazing when you think that next year will be even bigger for COD.

In 2010 alone:

CoD: Black Ops - 15.6 million (counting PC version)
CoD: Modern Warfare 2 - 5.8 million
CoD: World at War - 1.6 million
CoD 4: Modern Warfare - 1.5 million (counting Wii version)

Total  24.5 million! O_o

That's without PC sales for most games. And Black Ops will sell another 3 million in the last 3 weeks of the year. How long can this keep up?

And even with Black Ops there is only retail PC game sales. Damn CoD is huge.

Well I am not sure who will make the next years COD instalment seeing as half of the Infinity Ward walked out on Activision, so I am interested how it'll fare. Besides the current problems floating around, online ones that is, on PS3 in particular might hurt the sales in the long run, for both the BO and the next instalment, or it might essentially boost the 360 version sales.. Hard to tell at this stage but I'd say that COD has at least 2-3 MAJOR instalments left in it. MoH was meant to be the "COD killer" yeah much good it did.. I was severely disappointed by it.

Only 10 Wii games on the list.

Disappointing.

By 2013, CoD will be the second franchise in history that sold more than 100m in one generation.

Well, that's still more than any other system at least.

As a side note, the publisher rankings combine all the EAs (EA, EA Sports, EA Sports Big, Electronic Arts and MTV games too for Rockband), and Konami includes Hudson, Hudson Soft, Hudson Entertainment since Konami owns Hudson. Sqaure-Enix includes Eidos. Tecmo-Koei, is Tecmo, Koei, and Tecmo-Koei. Take Two, is 2k Play, 2k Sports, 2k Games, Rockstar, and Take Two Interactive.

As for EA specifically, they used to be the largest or second largest publisher on Wii, PS3, X360, and PSP for quite a few years. Now they're falling off on Wii / PSP and EA never did too well on DS. In terms of locality of top ten publishers, PSP is the only system thats "Japanese-oriented" at the moment, with most top publishers from Japan rather than the West. Wii / X360 / DS all have slight Western leans. PS3 is pretty balanced. Wii / DS used to be balanced also, but have gotten more Western as their sales slowed in Japan. DS had one year where it was Japanese oriented too.
