Forums - PC Discussion - The Witcher 2 looks like its going to be the best RPG ever!

I recently read a post that mentioned this title and made me wish they went ahead and finished up that PS360 port. They were talking about how the whole "Morality" system in gaming is broken and made a great reference to InFamous. In the beginning it is considered Evil to take the food for yourself and your woman instead of giving it to the people, yet I myself wondered: "How is that evil?". I was always taught that charity starts at home.

Anyways, long story short, they say that "The Witcher" does this morality system right, and for that I want to play it. Too bad I have a crappy laptop.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

...Final Fantasy X, Persona 4 and Mass Effect 2 all say : YO DUDE! Wassup

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Is this coming to consoles?

Certainly better than Skyrim!

It'll be an excellent game.  I'm not sure if I'd call it the best ever, but it will probably be the best of the year.

Of all the Final Fantasies, that's what you choose!?

And I'll never understand how X gets so much love while XIII gets so much hate.  The two are so incredibly similar!

Hardly.

And PullusPardus Im disoppointed in your choice of headline for the thread. "Best RPG", as in better than Skyrim?

The Witcher is far better than many modern RPGs, in terms of gameplay, fun, choices, immersion... I've had two runs of this game, I'll have a third run soon !

Already preordered The Witcher 2, I am waiting !!!!

Great idea!  IMO , if you die , its REALLY gameover , which is a new way to play RPGS.

It is a fun way to play a game, but hardly 'new'.  Diablo II has a hardcore mode to where if you die your character is deleted.  It's funny to watch someone get into a bind in that game, cause they will frantically try to exit the server and save their character instead of dying.

Speaking of which, in the Witcher, they had better make sure you can't save you character by turning of the system if you are about to die.  I could just imagine people injuring themselves by diving across the desk reaching for the power cord.  If they do make it to where you lose your character if you turn off the computer or shut the program down, what happens in case of a power failure or computer system crash.  It is a fine line to walk in these situations.
