If Nintendo can up their production to 1.5M per month and they ship them all (and not hold any back for the holidays) then they will catch 360 in June. Which would be sooo impressive. After that it will just blow by 360 with PS3 being a small dot way behind them.

I guess you guys will just have to wait and see. These past 5 months Wii's been basically selling off of its initial launch lineup. They haven't even warmed up yet. You have not seen a dadgum thing on how Wii will sell. This thing's just getting started.

And that "Wii beats 360 in Americas region (not simply North America) within July" premonition wasn't my "crazy" one.

Well, according to this site, the Wii was at 2.1m at the end of Feb, and the 360 was at 5.7m.  So to meet your prediction, the Wii needs to catch up by 3.6m units during March, April, May, June, and July.  So it has to average selling over 700,000 more units per month in the Americas than the 360.  I suspect when the March numbers are revealed this week, the difference will be nowhere near the 700,000 mark, making it that much harder to catch up in the remaining 4 months.

I'm glad the Wii is doing so well, and I expect it to continue doing well.  But these kinds of numbers just aren't going to happen.

Do I still think this will be the case? Probably not, but before the end Q2 Nintendo will surpass Microsoft.

I wouldn't be suprised if 360 doesn't outsell the Wii over any monthly period WW for the rest of its life cycle.  There will be months where it outsells Wii in NA of course, and there is a smaller chance it might happen in Europe when Halo is released, but Wii will always dominate 360 in Japan.

If Microsoft tosses a price drop in there on top of GTA and Halo, I don't see why it would happen this year. Globally Nintendo's got games that can match those (maybe, and assuming no delay), but Nintendo's first party games will get stomped in the west. I don't see it happening early next year either unless both systems are for some reason going at the same rate they are now. Best case scenario would be end of next year, but it's highly dependent on just how big the acceptance is in Japan.

My 1 million units sold in Japan prediction is probably the most stretched out prediction about the 360 in Japan. So i really don't think anyone believes that the 360 will ever surpass the Wii in Japan.

Why the crazy prediction? Because I have high hopes for Eternal Sonata and Lost Oddissey, also because I know MS will keep throwing money at the Japanese market until they finally start selling units.
