Wii would sale 50mill in 2011 alone if the price dropped to $99, so would the 360 and ps3 but the companies would lose money.

For the PS2 is was only a $30 drop and it was years after the next gen systems were available. It was last year, the PS3 was already 3 years old by then and the 360 4, and it had been at $129 for even longer than the 360 was avilable.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure sales increased.
