Hahahaha they are exploding as i write this.... i dont think it needs to be at $99 to do it

That's what I was thinking. They had like 800K sold in the U.S. alone, compared to 400K for the XBox 360 and 240K for the PS3.  If they were $99 sales would probably double what they already are now. XBox 360 will be at $150 next year. I wonder how well it will do at that price?

I remember when I had high regards for EA on Wii because of how they broke the friend code barrier and provided a nice lobby system with EA Nation on games like Medal of Honor, but then the online and the company went to crap.

There is just so much crap in this guy's words, I dont know where to start.

It's all BS.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

A price cut would definitely stimulate Wii sales, but it doesn't even need to be as much $100. Even something like $20 could  have the potential to give a big boost. There's no need for one as drastic as $100.

Saying sales would explode at those prices is surely stating the obvious.

As for the third party complaint - is he seriously saying Nintendo should focus more on selling 3rd party games than its own?  Do Sony and Microsoft market third party games?

they go out of their way to help third party develop and they actually do market some third party titles...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Oh really? I think any video game console's sales would EXPLODE at $99 when it's already selling great at $199 4 years after it's launch.

SmokedHostage: EA is asspained about Nintendo's profit margins
Also the sky is blue and grass is grass.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Price cuts are cool and all but they're not long term system sellers.  Never have been and never will.  Say MS, Sony and Apple are competition for Nintendo when they have similar first party market presence.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I know I'm going against the grain here, but I'm a little skeptical.

I think initially you'd see a huge surge, for a month or so, but I feel after there's a possibility that alot of people would see the Wii as a gimmick. I think a sub-$100 price tag would show a lack of value and just how ancient news it is.

It's like buying a 55" Plasma for $500.... At first you think "Hey, that's a great deal!" but then you start thinking "Well why's it only $500?". That's because Plasma cannot stand up to LED or even LCD TV's.

It'd be the same with the Wii, right now you can get a Wii or a 360 for $199, so people see it as similar value. You drop the Wii down to $99 and it's like well why is it that cheap when the other guys are $199 and $299....

Then again, everyone is so cheap these days, it's likely to explode.
