Forums - Sales Discussion - Wii explosion begins this weekend!

Well, as far as I know we're still doing the voucher program for Circuit's Wii-launch tomorrow. For those of you that want to know, we received the same amount we received for the actual launch of the Wii. That's roughly twice every shipment since it's initial launch. You can probably expect numbers similar to the Wii's first sales week.

nice info, thanks =)

and as a response : omg

the numbers will be insane

I thought Nintendo only makes 1.8million wii's a month, how do you guys think its going to sell upwards of 1mil in the US alone in one week. I would guess sales will be lower then Black friday.

Did you even read the article or the transcript?

Stores apparantly have been holding their Wii's (okay that sounds wrong), and are planning to sell them this weekend

i would love to see wii hit 5-600,000 in usa this week and next and go over a million worlwide both weeks! i only hope the rumors about massive shipment are true.

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus

Proud owner of wii, gamecube, xbox, ps2, dreamcast, n64, snes, genesis, 3DO, nes, atari, intellivision, unisonic tournament 2000, and gameboy

Well amazon.co.uk took quite a few hours to sell out, from around 2am last night till noon today, considering they normally sell out in a matter of minutes I expect there was a very large stock. Several other sites took longer to sell out then normal.

Some of the larger bundles from GAME are still available

"..just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake"

awww man. And there are so many Nintendo Wii here in Poland, that if i were to take advantage of the poor people in England and France, i would probably earn enough to buy myself a new powerful computer. And that's with selling 10 consoles for 30 pounds above MSRP. Unless i'm missing something and an extra 30 quid is quite a lot to spend?

@Wojitas... first £30 is an average DS game.... or what you would get for 6 hours work at minimum wage.

second, you could easily sell them for a lot more than £30 above the MSRP here in UK, you could make £60-£100 per Wii easily i reckon.... They are in fact selling for the same price as PS3 40Gs.

Well then , as i said, if i sold 10 Wii's for ONLY 30 pounds above MSRP, i could buy myself a computer that could run Crysis on high (not highest, but still) settings, no problem. The only thing stopping me from doing so is : 1) no one from England has thought about purchasing a console in Poland yet 2) i'm too lazy to start the business 3) i'm too much of a wuss to be the parasite needed for this kind of thing. I'll just earn my money for the computer working at a hookah bar.
