Forums - Sony Discussion - I have one major complaint about GT5

I somehow managed to win the top gear trophy (but for some reason can't do the gokart [go figure]) But I've made peace with the fact that the Seb lob challenge is just too impossible for me, so I'm not even gonna go near that.

The BS rules for License and Special Events. Most precisely, tap anything or be tapped by the opposing AI you get disqualified. I understand the idea that you shouldn't be aggressive, but why is it that the AI can ram my ass into a wall and I get DQed? I find that its complete crap that I get DQed because the AI is driving a faster car then I and can ram you without any care causing you to be penalized? How is that fair at all?

AI in specials and License are scripted. They are designed  to be some what like a puzzle. The idea is find the correct path to beat the AI. AI crashing into you means incorrect path.

it sucks but to be honest that is only going to happen if you made a move right in front of the AI that caused it to change his trajectory and he didn't adjust well...

Actually the AI doesnt change trajectory. They only follow a set path.

And yes, this is so fucking annoying. I hated getting licenses and the kart - expert race killed me

Yup, I noticed in the go karting Advanced test 2 (the one I'm stuck on) one driver, goes off track at exactly the same spot in the exact same manner each and every time I restart.

It's a lot more forgiving then gt4 luckily. You still get away with slight bumps (as long as you don't push them off track) and you can get away with going half of track yourself. One of the tests in gt4 was do a full lap of Nurburgring Nordschleife without ever touching one wheel over the side. The AMG driving academy in gt5 doesn't care how you get to the end.

Kubelwagen was pretty easy, just there for comedy effect. The game completely takes the piss out of itself by having 2 streams of cars drive into eachother on set paths.

Some are very tricky though, oh well bronze is good too :) Though I can't even get bronze on the 2nd and 3rd Sebastian Loeb challenge, not even close :(

I couldn't help but laugh when the cars started crashing into each other. was the most bizarre thing I'd seen in a while.

The Sabastian Loeb challenge is rediculous.... I do not know how I'm going to beat these...

“Absolutely, we can do much more with it. I don’t know if we are even close to 50 percent of PlayStation 3’s power at this point,” said Asmussen about God of War 3.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

wow that seems horribly hard.

OT: I remember a some racing game on the ps2 that had similiar rules and it made me want to punch my tv.

Sure this is a issue, but it's no where as bad as you try to claim it's. Makes the events harder. And, you can crash into eachother, you cannot bump them while you're accelerating. Your issue is that you're to slow and you go into their driving lanes. That's simply it. In turns you neeed to use the fastest lines, and no, those aren't the "brake lines". They're marks on the road. I've completed most of the events with gold, nearly all the events, and gotten gold in all the licenses. It's not that hard, infact, I wish some of the S tests were harder. To easy. I bump the AI all the time, and without being DQ'd. Sure their are hiccups in the system, but only are they frustrating if you're bad. That's it, the main point. You're just BAD. GT5 doesn't catter to bad people. It's a driving simulation. Learn how to properly drive, the lines, aggressive overtakes and such, and you will not complain about such stupid things. Just saying man. And no, I don't use a wheel even, so it's harder for me than those people, but still, it's easy.

@jhuff394  Your issue is you're going to fast. I never have issues with getting DQ'd on rally events, nor ice/snow events. You try to go to fast, when slower is better, and you get the correct line, making you a much faster driver. This isn't Need for Speed, heavy brakes ARE important.
