Forums - Gaming Discussion - Mass Effect 3 & Dragon Age 2 Online Multiplayer?

The words comming from EA's picture a possible future for their games with an obligatory online component. Mass Effect and Dragon Age under Electronic Arts are two franchises which, up until now, have been single player experiences constructed for the inmersion of a gamer in their storyline and choices.

Do you think that it is possible that EA makes BioWare to adapt these games' concept to multiplayer format? If that is the case, how do you think they will do it? How would the games work?

^ I also hope that does not come to be. Not all games need to be multiplayer. I could picture an online mode for Mass Effect where players can battle against each other but something that needs to be separated from the single player mode but, do we need this? Does Mass Effect needs this?

Please god no on Multiplayer for M.E.3

Focus on the single player, that is what has made Mass Effect....Mass Effect.

I could easily see online Coop for Dragon Age, that would be pretty sweet.

I called multiplayer for ME3 last year

The gameplay was changed drastically from ME1 to be way more fun and polished. I have a feeling the multiplayer isn't going to affect the campaign though. It's going to be like Pinnacle station but not shitty and instead of bots you can face real players.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

@AdventWolf:

How do you think that the party members selection could work with an online coop? Maybe the host would be the only one in control of the party members and be the only one to develop a relationship with them? Then the players that get into the host's party would only be another member there in the party, you think?

I can see this game working in an online setting in terms of gameplay mechanics, but what about that important aspect to DA? How do you see the development of the relationship of party members with the player in an online game?

Well I could see it like you could join a person's game with your own character and you could possibly have a vote among players to choose an option. The tie would go to the host. So if you have 3 players playing and two players choose option 3 to kill the guy, and the other player chooses to option 2 to peacefully negotiate, the target will die!

Edit: But that could be just one option of the game, you should be able to go into the settings under coop settings and choose an option that will allow "coop decisions", so that the other players that join your game will not have a say. Or you could allow "coop decisions" that will give other players a vote.

Party based RPG online coop? YESSSSS PLEASSSE.

I loved playing Neverwinter Nights 2 with my brother and a buddy online. And I'm really enjoying playing Icewind Dale I & II online coop with my brother.

I'm not really interested in the current model of multiplayer. Not at all into that whole competetive thing. Give me games with immersive stories that you can play with others cooperatively online, and enjoy sharing the experience of the game. That's what I've always wanted.

Sort of off Topic, but I'd love to have the ability to go through the whole of Uncharted 3 with online co-op. It'd be great to have some of the platforming parts for bonus content and trophies be areas where you need 2 players play through the chapter.

The Moment BioWare announces a Multiplayer Component to ME3 (which I doubt), I suspect a massive shitstorm is going to stir throughout the net and of course especially at the BioWare Social Forum
