yes i would but to say the truth i want aliens to come and invade my country instead of other humans so i am not killing my own race. Atleast then all earth will be unified against them

If aliens have the technology to invade earth, it'd be pointless to fight back.

We could never take the fight back to them... and if they got fed up with us, they could just retreat, and then orbitally bombard us to death. 

Then resettle the planet and take it's resources.

I would leave the country. Duh. 1 person won't make a difference and I would rather not sacrifice myself for any country. Although if I have no opportunity to do that and the invading force will likely enslave or kill most of the civilians then of course I would fight. Though thankfully my country of residence does not seem to be in any dire risk of invasion except in call of duty games.

you were talking about whether they took your rights away or not, something that could only happen after they have invaded and taken over. So in regards to the question posed by the op you would not take up arms if your country was invaded, but you when't on to  if they started impeding your rights you would start a resistance.

Considering how the OP worded his post I assumed the country had already been invaded, and he was asking if I'd become like the Iraqis fighting the American invaders.

If the country was on the brink of being invaded I'd make my choice taking into account the current conditions in my country and the intentions of the invaders.

I was also talking about the risks/benefits of the invasion, and I wasn't thinking specifically about a one-man army situation ;)

I would like to think that if an invasion took place I would fight in some way.  The last invasion that really got anywhere of mainland Britian was in 1066, so I guess the closest I can compare it to is the German occupation of Jersey.  I also like to think that if I was alive in the 1930s, I would have been one of those people to volunteer to fight fascism in the Spanish Civil War as over 20 people in my 6th form college did.
