you were talking about whether they took your rights away or not, something that could only happen after they have invaded and taken over. So in regards to the question posed by the op you would not take up arms if your country was invaded, but you when't on to  if they started impeding your rights you would start a resistance.

Depends on the potential risks and benefits.

People are not giving a fuck about their own countrymen who in this days have  to live on the street;..Even giving a little amount of money for charity is to much.. why would they then stay and fight?  Especially in Europe where it is so easy to just move to an other country..

Probably not.. I would protect my wife and children (I would have them by then) but that's about it..

No, I'd let the soldiers who choose to defend their/my country do it for me.

I'd cower in my basement and let the cat defend my territory before I decided I'd better try to help!  :P

Isn't it the same, just more effective way to protect them than just do it alone?

 If i would take up arms with the risk to get killed and thus leaving my family without anyone to protect them.. I would take the oppression.. I would try to divert all the suffering on me.. to protect my family..

Yeah I didn't mean to imply that it's an easy decision, or even that you're wrong.

It's probably a moot point anyway, most of us here don't live in countries worth invading.
