Forums - PC Discussion - Crysis has good graphics

I mean really good.

They tried a 1800$ video card and still could not get top notch at the very high setting. Crazy.

Guess we have to wait a year to be able to play it at its greatest.

Yes, i really dont like the story and the multiplayer tho, it is one of those games in which you just play to look at the scenery with your mouth wide open with drool dripping on your keyboard.

Crysis is the only game right now (and probably for the whole next year) that has next-gen graphics. It's WAY ahead of its time.

Also, don't forget that even on medium settings, its graphics put any other game in existence to shame.

It's suprising that they actuall started making it a few years ago, then cancelled it, then started again, then mass delayed it.

It's the same with the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl.

Well, in this case, the game also boasts incredible AI leo, not to mention that it really is fun to play. Either you shoot through the whole game, or you sneak past, just like in mgs series games. Add to what Fazz said, and there you have what a true next-gen shooter should be like.

Except when PS360 people talk about the Wii, then IT'S ALL ABOUT TEH GRAFX LOLOLOLOL.

But I somewhat agree. I play it a lot like FarCry in that the first 3/4ths of the game it's 100% AAA, then you get to the alien stuff and it's meh. So basically it'll end up the best game I haven't beaten like 20 times.

Thankfully FarCry 2 will be NOT be featuring trigens or purple people eaters or anything of the sort.

Crysis is not that impressive. Really!
The AI is crap (no I don't play on the lowest difficulty), the water looks the same whether you're above or below the surface and it's reflections have nothing on the Source engine.
Tree and brush textures are... strange and flat, and the physics are plain stupid.
Do you think a 5 ton cable on a wooden drum would float or that 9 mm rounds can chop down palms in a single shot or two?
A shotgun can devestate an entire building in 4-5 shots and the enemies can easily take 10-20 rounds in the torso before going down, strangely being no more efficent than shooting their legs if you want them dead.
Vehicles control like cardborad boxes and are horribly rendered, especially the civil vehicles.
I've never seen proper weather effects, and the game is teeming with bugs.

I really like Crysis, I do, but I'm sick of hearing how extremely fantastic it is. And for the record; having an ingame engine (which delivers inches more than others) that can't be properly run on ANY rig is not worthy of accolade, it's redundant.
