Not sure if GT5 will sell 10 million or even 9 million.  GT3 sold 7.14 million in the US, and GT4 had a big drop in US sales with 2.83 but was still able to sell 10 million worldwide total lifetime.

As for 1st week sales, GT4 sold 770k in the US whereas GT5 sold 470k in the US.  Conversely, GT5 worldwide 1st week sales trail GT4 1st week.  Of course, having the late delay & last minute release date in November and also having virtually no advertisement/commercials/no TV media hype build-up prior to release definitely hurt GT5 opening week sales.  

Can GT5 have good legs for the next couple of months?  I've seen multiple GT5 commercials in every NFL football games since Thanksgiving.

I'd say this is amazing especially considering that GT4 launched when the PS2 install base was 3 times that of the PS3's now.

Like you said, there wasn't much advertising for GT5 until a few days after BF (in My town at least), so I don't expect 2nd week Americas sales to drop drastically.

So which GT's were heavily bundled?

For the record, this isn't to minimize anything or maximize anything, just to give some perspective.  The PS2 sold like the Wii at times, so anything that was bundled would have huge numbers.  The ones that weren't bundled would give a better idea of how a GT game sold naturally when the userbase was monstrous during the PS and PS2's heights.

GT5 should pass Prologue by Christmas.

Hopefully it reaches GT2 numbers or better lifetime. It should do AT LEAST 7 or 8 million. If MW2 can do 8 million then so can GT5.

Great Post! I agree.

As for the opening post, the last minute delay hurt sales, but it was still released for Black Friday in Americas, and it's being released in the Holiday window. GT4 didn't get that.

Lets wait for more data to come in before making any more predicitons.

Im guessing online will dictate how well and for how long GT5 sale's in NA, and PD is updating it already. 

Will surely do around 3/4 million in NA.

gran turismo 5 is week in america and strong in emeaa like gran turismo 4

gran turismo 5 sold  more in emeaa than gran turismo 4 so it should sold  better (7m) and i exept gran turismo 5 to sold (2 m) in america (gran turismo 4 was 2.9 m) and 0.85 million in japan

so i think  gran turismo 5 will sold 10 million



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m
