This was the reason you were so disappointed a BF sales?

At any rate, yes, I see it happening, but only being above by, let's say 15,000 console AT THE MOST. If not, it will likely be just under.

Also, you know you said you thought you were missing something? You should have added a poll, to gauge a better opinion

When I read the sales data for last year I couldn't quite believe it. But that's why they call it Nintendo magic no?

Yeah, I thought that it would have been cool for the Wii to catch up with last year on BF, :P. Oh, and why do you see it happening just by a little bit? From now on, logically, the Wii should be at 1m next week and continue to float decently above par for the rest of the year in Americas. In EMEAA, it should be a little under next week, but grow at a faster rate due to bundles. Even though the Wii will be heavily down in Japan, huge gains in Americas and EMEAA will offset that more than just marginally.

Though, realistically, I can't see it being on par next week in Americas and not for most of the other weeks either, :P, so yeah, you're probably right, though I still believe it could be up by a few 100k.

Yeah, honestly, those umbers seem ridiculous -- the Wii has a larger gain after Black Friday than on it, xD. Nintendo magic, it is.

It's cool to believe that people still believe that this year wil be the downfall of the Wii etc., when, as you rightly say, Nintendo magic is keeping it alive.

Also, you explained to yourself the reason I think it'l only be up by a little, saves me typing time

Well, let's hope I'm right, :).

Oh and I edited the first post with my weekly predictions and it actually looks possible, :D!

Reading your predictions it sounds pretty on par with what sounds reasonable, the only swaying factor is Kinect and how much the advertising in the UK here will affect the sales in EMEAA, because if it's too much it may not be able to match your predictions.

At any rate, al will be revealed in little over a month, so lets see whether or not the Wii-haters will be drowning in their tears of SHAME or whether or not this thread will be remembered as the thread from the Nintendo fan who rode out Black Friday sales just a little too much. I hope it is the former

Sorry but I don't see it happening. Yes the Wii will have great sales but less than last year. Last year's BF sales were lower than this year's because (as far as I remember) there were less good deals available, the good deals came later. Also last holiday season was the first season Wii was available with no shortages. This time it's different, and there's Kinect around as a hot item to get. So WIi will sell great, but no records will be broken this time around (imo). If your prediction comes true, I cetainly won't shed any tears, I AM rooting for the Wii, just being (imo) more realistic.

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Aww...but

However, your point is valid, but, like I say, we should wait until January to decide, anything is possible with the Wii!

Haven't you noticed? Despite Kinect, Wii's taken over the weekly lead in the UK, if only barely. Whilst 360 made too large of a yearly gap between the Wii and itself with Reach and the Slim for Wii to catch up for the year, it shows that the Wii is gonna sell amazingly either way.

I know it's unlikely, but I also know that everybody on here loves lowballing the Wii and that my chances of getting this right, whilst extremely low, are still  higher than most here think. Therefore, in the unlikely case that I get it right, I shall be viewed as god, :D.

Anyway, I thought as much regarding the BF deals. That's why I've put Americas sales slightly below what they were last year. However, I've kept the number mostly even because I find it very likely that DKCR and DEM will be able to replicate the effect that NSMB produced, at least for the holidays. Also, with the Red Wii bundle, I believe that its effects will be much larger during the holidays since it makes the Wii an interesting thing to buy again and because the Wii has an established brand name and well known games as compared to Kinect, the hardware sales boosting effect of which I believe people are vastly overestimating, Wii should still do really well.

Besides even in a worst case scenario, I simply can't see Wii not breaking records in EMEAA. And with DKCR and the big ad campaign, Wii should do alright in Japan, too, however down from last year.

I think maybe the more interesting prospect would be whether the Wii could outsell the 360 by years end, but I'm sure Seece is already on top of that

Don't think that's possible,  unfortunately, D:. 360 has a 200k-250k advantage and last week's numbers, I believe, put the Wii at 59k and 360 at 58k, if I'm not wrong. I really don't think Wii can extend its lead to 40-50k weekly over the next five weeks.

Still, if that's the case, let's say the wii ends up 100k behind this year.

This is the year that the Wii has been "doomed" too many times to count, yet is only 100k behind the 360 which had Halo Reach, Slim model, Kinect, lots of advertising and a price cut. The Wii has had nothing but software and bundles. I think Nintendo has far more cards yet to lay on the table than 360, so I don't think anyone is worried!

Yeah, honestly, that's something HD fans seem to forget too many times (though I don't believe 360 had a price cut this year. I thought it had held price since 2008). Just because the Wii has been falling for a while and PS360 have been rising doesn't mean it'll continue. They seem to think that the Wii won't come first next year 'cause it's declining. They don't seem to realize that this is the year when both HD consoles peak and it's downhill for them too. If older market trends mean anything, they're gonna fall much faster. Wouldn't even be shocked to see Wii at 50% market share for 2011 or 2012.

My year end prediction speaks of my disagreement but I admire your big balls. If it does come true, kudos!

Wanna bet that the Wii will outperform your year end prediction by at least one million if not three, :P?

Lol, no. I freely admit that your balls are bigger than mine!
