with the lack of advertising i am suprised anyone even knew it was coming out. So all these sales are just from people who walked into the game shop and seen the game.

I dobut the drop off is going to be that big tbh

Can only really talk about the UK but there has been a lot of advertising for it since it was released. Especially when the football is on. My gf said she saw it also when x factor was on and that has the highest viewing of any show right now.

So i think the whole "nobody knows about it" thing is pretty false really. It has had more advertising then a lot of games normally get. Sure it hasen't had the same amount as games like Halo or call of Duty get but it was never going to because Sony don't spend that amount on advertising.

It is quite ironic to think a game that has been in development for 6 years, been in the media for so long especially since e3 2005 and nobody knew it was coming out!

Here in America, Advertising didn't start until few days after Black Friday.

Here in Italy Ninty is flooding us so much with its ads that I didn't notice ads for games on any other platform.

Yh Gran Turismo is getting advertised now but it never had advertisements until after it came out.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I just remember where I saw the only GT5 marketing stuff: in the Xmas issue of MediaWorld's free magazine, but the post delivered it the week after launch. So I can confirm the late advertising here too.

Nevertheless here in Italy it did record sales, like in Finland and Spain (in our own small way , we aren't behemoth markets like USA, UK and Japan).

It did great in my opinion.

It did good, I was expecting 5 million at launch.

About what I expected (great in EU, middling in NA/JP).  Japan was actually a little lower than I expected (430k-398k depending on the tracker, I figured it'd do 500k).

How come PS3-X360 gap is still at 4 million after GT5 launch? Haven't Vgchartz updated the numbers?

Might be because the Xbox 360 has outsold the PS3 2 weeks in a row, even with GT5 sales included. If anything, the gap just increase a bit.

GT5 sales were pretty much what I expected. It's right on track to sell about 3.5 million by the end of the year. I expect WW sales to drop to about 800K-900K in the 2nd week.
