Can someone tell me what the hell happened to the 20G PS3...?!
If so, where is it available and is it still being produced?

The last official comment from Sony was that they were still being produced. That said retailers across the board, including the Sony Style store, have delisted the 20GB PS3. I think all those rumors of the 20GB PS3 being discontinued are quite true.

In my eyes this is madness. For those of us concerned about price, this is obviously the cheaper solution when picking up a PS3.
The only possible reason is that they are making less of a profit on these units, and want to push the 60Gig model. I can't believe there is no demand for this model - hell, it never even launched in Europe!

That's exactly it. Sony losses less money on the sale of a 60GB model.
