Right now the government taxes around 45% of all money instead of 20%.  The would greatly reduce taxes in the US.  Unforuntately, it was also lead to rioting or even a revolution because there is no way the average person in the US would support taxes of that level.

That's why I moved to New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project to reduce the scope and size of government.  We are trying to get 20,000 people to sign up and move with the goal of

"

Statement of Intent

I hereby state my solemn intent to move to the state of New Hampshire. Once there, I will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of civil government is the protection of life, liberty, and property."

Flat tax is the only rationale and fair system.

Wait what? Some one is pro free market? Not only that the second post about Mellon sounds very contradictory to the first post. Personally Free Market is what's f'ing everything up right now as it is. It's not pro economy it's pro individual.

I'm going with Joelcool7 here. He is the man that speaks for me on this. Then again I'm Canadian.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I voted its good, but only for the flat tax, not for the government only providing that (although that would be very interesting).

The thing why a flat tax won't probably ever pass is Liberals think it isn't fair.  To them, it is much more fair for rich people to pay the highest percentages, since it defiantly makes sense that somebody making 100,000 should pay an average tax of 30% for instance and somebody making 50,000 should pay an average tax of 25%.

I really don't get what isn't fair about the SAME tax for EVERYBODY...aghhhh

Free market is what's effing everything up?  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  You do realize in the 90's (it continued through the 2000s obviously) the GOVERNMENT told the banks to start borrowing money to the poeple that it should have never been borrowed to in the first place.

Do not blame what is happening on the free market, as without government intervention telling the banks to do so and so, they would have never started borrowing to the losers that get money now.

A flat tax is basically 'lets fuck the poor so the rich get richer'. It's obvious that the poor can't afford to have as much of their income taxed as the rich can. A flat tax is not a 'fair' tax, it's a blatantly unfair tax when you consider quality of life, it essentially means that the rich will be able to live a better quality of life than the good one they currently have and the poor will be able to live a worse quality of life than the poor one they currently have. Because widening the wealth gap is what everyone wants right?

Also relying on charity doesn't work. Charity is nice, but it's not thorough.

Finally the 'trickle down' effect is complete rubbish, it doesn't trickle down, it just pools at the top.

This is complete and utter nonesense.  The flat tax is the only fair tax.  If you want to have segmented tax rates, then the poor should pay a HIGHER tax rate than the rich as they consume a disportionate amount of the services.  If the poor can't afford the taxes then they should get better jobs, it is as simple as that.

Or, than the taxes should be lowered and the government should get out of as many things as possible.  A system with only 20% taxes (most Western powers are around 40% to 60% taxes right now) would generally lower taxes and increase the quality of live for the vast majority of people.  The lower the taxes, the better.

A free market system is an economic theory. Just like most economic theories it has flaws.

A flat tax system would be a Conservative Libertarians dream. Would it lead to a fairer and equitable world for every citizen if they paid the exact same flat tax rate  or would it lead to a darker society?

How would  society react if a flat tax system was suddenly imposed by white haired men in Italian designer label suits?
