And about GT5 x Forza 3 discussion.
They are two kind of games... one a mixed Arcade/Sim and the other just a Sim.
I can't make a direct comparison... but I like more GT5 because I like more Sim racing games than Arcade.

Gamespot was the review I was waiting for. So I can stop looking at Metacritic. But what I've come to learn is that: GT5 is hands down the best racing simulation game out there, but shoddy tree and people graphics and a less than user friendly interface is marking it down so much. What happened to reviewing the game for what mattered?
Resident Evil 5 is heavily a co-op game, but is there a "co-op" option on the main menu? No. Did it get marked down for something similar to the things GT5 is getting marked down for? No. Just for reference
However, I won't damage control. These are still great scores. I'm just surprised that it's the little things that shouldn't even matter that are keeping GT5 from being 90 , instead of actual gameplay flaws
Watch GAMESPOT video review, the first few word are already "bigest and best GT yet".
Good score. I do find it strange that in many of the reviews, they seem to crown it the best GT and best console sim racer to date, yet the scores really don't reflect that. The menu system and interface and clunky and at times downright shitty and almost a step backwards from GT4 (like car selection in Arcade mode for instance) and the loading times are indeed quite long but not much worse than GT4 when you install. For me, the bottom line is; problems and issues be damned, the gameplay is just so goddamn solid, both sound, visuals and most of all, the handling and physics.
The score is probably fair, I can see how some aspects of the game would tick people off, I find myself rolling my eyes as well at times and a few things could certainly be better. All in all, I hope people won't bitch too much about this and go play their copy of the game instead.

re: issue with menues, i think every one of them is very good, yes it can be cumbersome to look at car requirements for race then hitting back button a few times and go look for that car, but overall presentation makes up for niggles like that. ps. if you gift a car to a friend can they gift it back? if someone can gift me a pickup truck for the ameter challenge id be grateful. |
I just got one for the international A license. Not sure if you always get the same car, but it might be worth trying.

And its a good score. |
i did the same but nobody listened. :/ the score is quite expected to me. heck, i actually expected less from gamespot. it's good that they choose to play the game a bit more.

Suffering leads to killing Natalie Portman over a fucking dream that he caused because he was an emo bitch that should've cut the defenseless Chancellor Palpatine in half the moment he found out he was a Sith Lord.

Oh and leaving the council chambers before Mace Windu & CO returns. Never forget that.. NEVER.
Another FF XIII case here... an incredible game with a mixed reception... *gets back behind behind the wheel of virtual Honda NSX*
Only an 8? meh i think i'll pass it didnt look that great anyway. Forza 3 appears to be the much better game.
