Why are you guys hating on the online? Its shitloads of fun O_o'

i know its a lot of fun, you create your own room watch others race before you jump in and post your times its amazing, its like watching your friends do thier timed run then you jump in and do yours ive not seen another racing game do that

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

Yeah! And the free mode before you start, its just.. great. And the amount of options, allowing collision penalty off and on is great. Most games have one but not both of those options. Hardcore/casual kinda'.

So why are they hating so much :(. They said you have to give a long digit code to find your mates room, well thats utter bs. Just add him to your damn PSN and join through the community. Play with people and socialize -> asking them to change settings and so forth. They were basically crying over the online in a following scenario = a random dude with no friends on PSN entering turkish servers when he can only speak .. Norwegian.

Then yeah, GL finding a server with exactly your preferences...

Cool! atleast its possitive.

I heared from their first impression video that they were planning to give it a 7 or sumthing from what they played  so least it got bump up.

That's an excellent review, I'm more likely to believe his 8/10 than anyone elses, he makes some amazing points and tells it exactly as it is. Usually I don't give Gamespot a thought when looking for reviews but after this one, I'm more likely to in the future.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

yeah, good review overall. I like that they at least took their time to make it

I'm a little confused most of these reviews I glance at complain about superficial things like the menus, but WTF?  It's a racing game, you don't race the menus.  On another note I think the menus looks better and more functional than let's say Super Street Fighter 4, yet I don't see that getting knocked down (Didn't try online in GT5 so I can't compare it to anything yet.).  But whatever, "Best Racing Simulator Ever" got an 8.5 rating by most people  in the "industry" then fine by me.

in their defence, the menu system is rather unattractive but it does make sense why PD went with this design, the design of GT4 was beautiful but was a chore remembering what was where. as the Gamespot guy said, the game is beautiful once you look under the hood at the engine, not at the paint work.

lol @ everyone who, after IGN released their review said things along the lines of "I never trusted IGN, only gamespot are worth reading reviews of." Let me guess, you're going to chuck a 1984 and quickly change your position to 'We have always been at war with IGN, we have always been at war with Gamespot. We have always been allied with Gamernode'.

Anyway, good to see it's still getting good reviews

At least in this review they spent a decent length of time with the game and have raised more credible points. A good quality review like this means more credibility for the site and more long-term readers.

I played a little in my friend's house with a G27.

I have to use more time with the game but what I see is the best racing sim I ever see.

Maybe GOTY for me.

I brought my preorder today (at Submarino shop with release date confirmed to Dec 7th).

all you do is look on your community tab and join your buddies that way, the room is unlike any other driving game and its got options galore, i was in a game room just pissing about with another user trying to do handbrake turns and someone from my friends list joins and i didnt know you can type messeges like a chat room and it comes up on your game screen. i think the online is superb.

re: issue with menues, i think every one of them is very good, yes it can be cumbersome to look at car requirements for race then hitting back button a few times and go look for that car, but overall presentation makes up for niggles like that.

ps. if you gift a car to a friend can they gift it back? if someone can gift me a pickup truck for the ameter challenge id be grateful.
