Not because I prefer ModernWarfare to Treyarch's game but simply for the follwing reason.

Infinity Ward is the only Call of Duty Dev. to really expand the series

Sure Treyarch added Zombies, but that doesn't really gain new fans, it just pleases existing fans.

Look at Call of Duty sales.

Infinity Ward created Call of Duty 1 and 2 -Great games

Treyarch created Call of Duty 3 and from what I've heard it sucked and it sold less than COD2

Then Infinity Ward created COD4 and it made the series about 6 times as large

Treyach made World At War. It was a decent game but it failed to get new customers. In fact it got less people to buy this game than COD4.

Then Infinity Ward created Modern Warfare 2. This game broke all records and ended up selling a lot more than the original Modern Warfare.

Then comes Black Ops. This game will be like World At War, it will be on track to outsell the prievious COD game but will lack the legs.

My point being, Infinity Ward created and expanded the Call of Duty series. Treyarch buts a new coat of paint on it and puts zombies in it. Would you agree with this?

All I know is that Infinity Ward know good level design.

Call of Duty sucks. id software made a better FPS 17 years ago.

You may be a bit premature on your Black Ops estimates.  I'm guessing it will approach if not surpass MW2.  I think World at War suffered because it was yet another WWII game.

I can't comment on the quality of the games as I'm just not into COD type games.

Infinity Ward is now a shell of what it was 2 years ago thanks to a lot of their developers quitting.

Treyarch automatically wins.  

I find IW better simply because of the superior level design, gameplay finesse and overall quality and coding of their games.

I prefer Black Ops over MW2 because it feels more balanced.

Though, Treyarch needs to fix the bug of inviting friends to groups... really sucks when certain friends can't join your party :P

For serious though, MW2 barely did anything new. It just turned the series into an even bigger spamfest, just when we thought it couldn't get any worse.

Barebones mode in BO is a pretty huge addition for anyone looking to avoid getting killed by explosives or toy cars every few seconds.
