We knew GT5 was going to sell well at launch, but those expecting Halo and Call of Duty numbers are going to be very disappointed.

Care to tell who some of those people might be because I don't remember people saying GT5 will sell 4 Mil Week 1 at least...

Prediction range average from users here was about 1.5 Mil to 2.5 Mil for First Week if my memory serves correct. Correct me if I'm wrong of course.

I'm about to make the GT5 Sales Predictions Discussion thread....you'll be able to see everyones prediction in there.

Cool.

I just don't think anyone would and should be disappointed by these numbers.

When I made the last update this was the average

Week 1 Average -- 2.56 Million

LTD Average -- 9.34 Million

But after that around 15 more people predicted so averages will change....anyway updating everything then making a discussion thread....the predictions thread itself is too cluttered now!

That Week 1 Average doesn't look too off actually but I think it'll fall short of 2.5Mil and instead be around 2.3 Mil ish.

And the Lifetime Average... While I wish I could say that GT5 will sell over 9 Mil, I doubt it. I personally see it doing 7-8Mil, which by all means isn't bad at all.

Anyway I'll share my full thoughts in your discussion thread.

Just remember, it did at least 400k in Americas in 2 days, and neither one of those was Black Friday. People out buying new PS3s for Christmas presents will be encouraged to buy a copy of GT5.

I just checked my Week 1 prediction in the GT5 sales thread. 2.42 million. Lets see how close I get when the 27th numbers show up.

This would probably be the strongest generation ever for the Gran Turismo franchise,IF PD would release 2 main GT games, like they have done in the past generations.

Still, with the sales of GT5P,GT5,and GT PSP,Polyphony must very happy.

Very nice. I wonder if black friday sales could boost that up a little more than we are predicting right now. This is such a great game, and very deserving of these sales. The first GT I have fallen in love with since GT2.

The game will have terrible legs in every region that we get official numbers from on a constant basis (america, Japan). It will only have "great legs" where we never get oficial numbers and anybody can claim anything (europe) plus sony will be giving the game away for free through bundling.

Japan's second week numbers will be a good indication for this games "great" legs.

If you don't believe anything PS3 related on VGChartz, why are you here? VGChartz are sales trackers just like NPD or MediaCreate, they are all not perfect...

And companies can't lie about their numbers, dude! But I forgot for a minute whom I was talking to, continue to live in your own world... Those comments are just sad. And Japan a good indication for great legs?? When did that happen?

OT:

Sales are great! Can't wait to see how much PS3 has been boosted in that week.

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

                                                                             #1                                       #2                                      #3

Okish sales, not bad for a game that scored 86 in meta. Not great for a game that was in development for 5 years.

SIMPLY AMAZING SALES, THE HATERS WILL NOT BE HAPPY NOW, BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THE RACING GENRE DIED ALREADY

PS I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND ALL THE PEOPLE CALLING THIS OK, THAT IT NEARLY OUTSOLD FORZA 3 IN JUST TWO DAYS ALONE, FORZA 3 IS AT AROUND 3.3M

it's the future of handheld
